Passion for creativity starts from production practice
Born in Thanh Hoa, graduated from Nha Trang University, Mr. Minh chose Da Nang to start a career from 2006. A year later, he joined Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd. with the job of operating and repairing machinery at the fishing rod production workshop.
In the early days, I spent most of my time learning about each production line, each equipment and the difficulties that workers faced in the production process with the desire to improve some stage so that the work would be better and the workers would be less vất vả" - Mr. Minh recalled.
In 2015, when he realized that many components had too long processing times, affecting the progress of large orders, he and the technical team started researching and manufacturing automatic component milling machines. Especially, during a visit to Daiwa's factory in China, he took the opportunity to record technical parameters, take photos, and observe the operation of the equipment. Returning to Vietnam, those data were analyzed, selected, and then developed into an improvement project suitable for the production conditions of the enterprise.
After nearly 10 months of research, testing and many revisions, the first machine was born. By the end of 2016, the completed version was put into production, meeting high accuracy requirements, stable operation, but the manufacturing cost was only about 8,000 USD, much lower than about 20,000 USD if imported from Japan. This initiative helped Mr. Le Ba Minh be in the group of 10 individuals awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit for creativity in labor production in 2017.
Businesses and trade unions nurture initiatives together
After the success of the first machine, Mr. Minh continued to research and manufacture more equipment for production, helping to improve productivity, save costs and reduce manual labor. His initiatives not only benefit businesses but also contribute to creating a safer and more efficient working environment for workers.
It is noteworthy that those initiatives are not the result of individual efforts. According to Mr. Minh, an important driving force comes from the trust of business leaders, the coordination of colleagues and the environment that always encourages innovation.
When I have an idea and am given the opportunity to try my hand, I will have more motivation to go to the end" - he shared.
Not only is he a good technical officer, Mr. Le Ba Minh also actively participates in trade union work and is one of the typical examples in both professional and grassroots trade union activities of Daiwa Vietnam Co., Ltd. He is always dedicated to colleagues and willing to share experiences to jointly improve production efficiency as well as participate in organizing emulation movements, cultural and sports activities; propagate policies and laws; care for the lives of union members and workers and support difficult cases.
