Businesses increase wages for workers
Mr. Dao Quang Tho - Human Resources Director of Cua Y A Chau Technology Co., Ltd. (Tan Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that the company has just had a wage increase adjustment to share difficulties with more than 1,000 workers.
The Board of Directors of the company decided to adjust the basic salary increase, on average each person received an increase of nearly 500,000 VND. The basic salary of employees increased from 5.5 million VND to over 6 million VND. Employees also received work allowance of 1.1 million VND, attendance allowance of 1.5 million VND. The total basic salary and allowance (excluding overtime) is 8.6 million VND. If there is regular overtime, on average each employee earns from 10 to 14.5 million VND per month.
According to Mr. Dao Quang Tho, currently businesses are facing many difficulties due to the world economic context, raw material prices for production are increasing by 10-15%. However, business leaders also understand the difficulties of workers. "With the salary increase, businesses want to share so that workers have more income, reduce spending pressure, and stabilize their lives" - Mr. Dao Quang Tho shared.
In Binh Co ward, the Grassroots Trade Union of Liv Cabinetry Co., Ltd. also said that the enterprise has just adjusted to increase the basic salary for 350 workers, the increase from 5.5 million VND to 6 million VND. Workers also receive an additional work allowance of 1.1 million VND, attendance allowance of 1.5 million VND and rent of 400,000 VND. The 8-hour salary of workers is 9 million VND per month. If working overtime, workers have an average income of 10-15 million VND/month.
Trade union promotes care for union members' lives
In the context of workers' lives still facing many difficulties, the grassroots trade union of Cua Y A Chau Industrial Co., Ltd. also promotes activities to care for the lives of union members. Ms. Le Thi Huong - Chairwoman of the company's grassroots trade union - said that the unit proactively negotiates and proposes to businesses to increase wages and maintain allowances for workers.
We have informed the business owner about the market price situation and the lives of workers. At the same time, we proposed that businesses increase wages and accompany grassroots trade unions in implementing welfare programs to stabilize workers' lives. In addition to wage increases, the company also maintains housing and gasoline allowances for workers" - Ms. Le Thi Huong added.
In March 2026, the grassroots trade union organized many meaningful activities contributing to caring for workers' lives. Notably, it organized a celebration of International Women's Day (March 8th) to honor female workers. In this activity, the trade union presented flowers, and the company supported gifts worth 200,000 VND for female workers. The company also supported men with 100,000 VND each.
Recently, businesses and grassroots trade unions continued to organize the "Trade Union Meal" program for 1,000 union members, each meal worth 80,000 VND. The grassroots trade union proposed that the company maintain the "Trade Union Meal" program once a month to increase nutrition and ensure health for workers.
