Hai Duong Grinding Materials Joint Stock Company branch has just invested more than 10 billion VND to upgrade a modern grinding machine system, requiring a team of skilled workers to operate. However, despite repeatedly posting recruitment notices and approaching candidates through many channels, the unit has not yet found a person who meets the requirements.
This shortage directly affects the progress and efficiency of operations, causing many difficulties in manpower arrangement.
Mr. Do Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of the Branch, shared: "Currently we are short of 10-15 workers. We still haven't recruited, so we don't have enough goods to supply to the market.
In the Chi Ma - Ai Diem border gate area, Chi Ma HTT General Import-Export Service Joint Stock Company (a unit specializing in logistics, warehousing and transportation) has focused on improving the working environment, ensuring income, supporting meals, accommodation and protective equipment. However, the recruitment, especially experienced and capable of long-term commitment, has not yet met expectations.
Mr. Mai Duc Trung - General Director of the Company - said: "The working conditions at the enterprise are currently relatively stable, and the income of employees is also guaranteed. But recruiting suitable people to stick with for a long time is still very difficult.
According to statistics, the whole province currently has about 338,000 people of working age. Along with that are nearly 6,000 businesses, over 580 cooperatives and more than 20,000 business households operating.
Labor supply and demand connection work in the past time has been strengthened through job transaction sessions, counseling, career orientation and linkages between businesses and training institutions. Although the number of people registering to find jobs from the beginning of the year to now has increased by more than 41% compared to the same period last year, the labor market still reveals many limitations.
One of the reasons is the labor migration. Many young workers after being trained choose to work in industrial zones and clusters outside the province or export labor. Conversely, a part of local workers do not meet the professional skills and industrial style, causing businesses to lose more time and costs of retraining.
Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Loan - Director of the Employment Service Center (Lang Son Provincial Department of Home Affairs) - commented: "Currently, workers in Lang Son mainly go to work outside the province, leading to a local labor shortage. Workers also lack vocational skills. Lack of soft skills and working in a modern working environment. Workers need to actively participate in basic training processes, improve skills to have sustainable jobs.
Leaders of the Border Area Employment Service Center also said that Lang Son is expected to put new industrial zones and clusters into operation and continue to promote investment in the production and logistics sectors, which means that the demand for human resources will increase very strongly. Many solutions are proposed to connect supply and demand and build policies to retain workers. However, the human resource problem still becomes a challenge hindering the province's investment attraction and industrial development goals in the coming period.
