Speaking at the forum, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung affirmed that in the current context, the Vietnam Trade Union has identified 3 major key tasks.
First, trade unions must continue to perform well the core function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers. Be proactive from dialogue, negotiation, participation in policy making, and supervision of law implementation to forecast and handle early problems arising right from the grassroots level in labor relations.

Second, trade unions must accompany workers, especially in issues of digital transformation, automation, artificial intelligence, and green transformation of the circular economy. Creating training opportunities and improving skills to help workers adapt to new trends.
The third is to actively participate in developing the production force, improving labor productivity, promoting innovation, mobilizing workers to promote initiatives, apply science and technology to contribute to the achievement of the country's double-digit growth target, especially launching emulation movements.
The industry union must closely follow the industry's development strategy, the specifics of each field and the requirements of integration. At the same time, play a good role in connecting workers with businesses and management agencies.
In which, listening to union members and workers speak must become one of the methods of innovating trade union activities to listen, understand, share, and create trust for union members and workers," emphasized the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
At the forum, union members and workers raised many questions and recommendations related to employment, salaries, bonuses and income; social security regimes, working conditions, improving labor productivity, vocational training, digital transformation, green transformation; trade union activities and solutions to improve the effectiveness of representing and caring for union members and workers.
Before the recommendations of union members, experts, lawyers, and trade union leaders at all levels directly answered.
This forum is organized to concretize the requirement to innovate trade union activities in a direction close to grassroots levels, close to union members, taking the results of caring for, representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers as a measure of effectiveness.
The core point of the forum is not only to create conditions for workers to express their thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and suggestions, but also to bring voices from the grassroots level into policy dialogue.
Issues are received, classified, clearly defined responsibilities, focal points for handling and information of results to union members and workers.
This is a strong shift from "listen to know" to "listen to understand, listen to accompany and listen to act" of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union.

Through the forum, the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union continues to affirm its role as a reliable bridge between workers, businesses and state management agencies. Actively participate early in the dialogue, forecasting and proposing solutions, especially for issues related to employment, wages, vocational skills, labor safety and social security.
