New home - new life
In early July, Mr. Dinh Trong Thao, a member of the Trade Union of the Forest Protection Department of Van Ninh District (Khanh Hoa) was excited to move into his new house.
The house has a total area of 60 square meters, with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room, ensuring living for a family of 4. The total cost of building the house is more than 250 million VND, of which the Union supported 60 million VND, the rest Mr. Thao borrowed from his family and the bank.
On the day of handing over the new house, the joy of Mr. Thao and his family was also the common joy of the agricultural union officials as it provided spiritual and material motivation for him to have a spacious house and peace of mind at work.
As a Forest Protection and Nature Conservation Officer at Van Ninh Forest Protection Department, Mr. Thao earns more than 7.5 million VND/month. His wife is unemployed, the family has 2 small children, and is renting a house in cramped conditions. Although he has land and wants to have his own house, his economic conditions are too tight, so Mr. Thao does not dare to build a house.
Knowing Mr. Thao's aspirations from the grassroots, the Industry Union actively supported and guided him and the grassroots Union to deploy documents, survey, and request financial support to build a warm house. "The 60 million VND support from the Union is the motivation for me to be determined to have a house like today" - Mr. Thao said.
For Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Dung, a member of the Trade Union of the High-Tech Agriculture Center, after nearly 10 years of working, her current income is only over 5 million VND/month. This is also the main income for her to raise 2 children to study. Knowing Ms. Dung's thoughts, the Trade Union and the Industry Trade Union directly came to survey to join hands with Ms. Dung to realize her wish to have a house.
And just 3 months later, from the initial union support fund of 60 million VND, Ms. Dung saved up more to build a spacious level 4 house with an area of 60m2. On the day she received the new house, Ms. Dung could not hide her tears of joy. The new house not only started her life but also served as a foundation for her 2 children to grow up...
Results from the determination of the Trade Union organization
Mr. Nguyen Huy Truong - Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Agriculture and Rural Development Trade Union - said that with the humane and practical meaning of the Trade Union Shelter program , over the years the Trade Union has always made efforts to bring the program to many union members with housing difficulties.
It is not easy for union members to meet the conditions for benefits, but with the heart of a union official, with the will to help union members settle down in order to develop, the Industry Union has gradually helped union members. Up to now, dozens of union members have had solid housing thanks to the union's motivation. Since the beginning of 2024, 3 union members of the Agricultural Union have benefited from the construction of Union Shelters with a total cost of 180 million VND.
“The happiness of a union official is the day of acceptance of the warm house. Looking at the new, spacious house, seeing the smiles mixed with tears of joy, we are more motivated on the journey to help make the union members' desire for housing come true. And we also hope that the program will continue to spread so that more union members with housing difficulties can benefit from it,” Mr. Truong shared.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Agricultural Trade Union mobilized the establishment of 2 grassroots trade unions and introduced 46/44 outstanding union members to the Party. During the Workers' Month, the Trade Union, together with the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation, visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 40 union members at the Forest Protection Departments, Teams, and Forest Protection Posts with a total amount of 35.5 million VND; presented 4 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances and with serious illnesses; mobilized 2,207/3,427 union members to participate in an online contest to learn about occupational safety and health...
