Being honored at the Vietnam Glory 2025 program is a proud surprise

On the afternoon of June 16, at the headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper, a press conference was held to introduce the Vietnam Glory Program in 2025. This is a special cultural and political event, honoring the national spirit, love for the Fatherland, and heroes; typical examples of advanced enterprises, businessmen, and entrepreneurs with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Speaking to the press, Ms. Phan Thu Thuy - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, the unit implementing the Vietnam Glory Program in 2025, said that this year's program has the theme "Pride and Aspiration".

"Proud" is because the program is associated with a series of important events of the country such as the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press (June 21, 1975 - June 21, 2025). This is also the year of organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress - opening a new era of development, affirming the aspiration to rise strongly of the Vietnamese people.

As for "Aspiration", it is because the country is entering a period of remarkable development, an era of national growth - just as General Secretary To Lam once emphasized.

"This year's theme is also the connection between the past and the present, between the heroic tradition and the aspiration for innovation and sustainable development. The collectives and individuals selected to be honored also clearly demonstrate that spirit.

There are collectives with a tradition of up to 125 years of formation and development, but there are also very new units such as Vietnam Vaccination Joint Stock Company - VNVC, which was established 8 years ago, but has made great contributions to changing the situation of the domestic vaccine industry," said Ms. Thuy.

Ms. Phan Thu Thuy also emphasized that the process of selecting individuals and groups to honor is conducted closely and meticulously. "Since March 2025, we have sent documents to all ministries and branches to introduce outstanding individuals and groups. By April, the program had received many official nominations from agencies.

After the preliminary selection step, we submitted to the Council a list of 40 collectives and individuals for the Council to consider and select. The voting process was conducted seriously and objectively," Ms. Thuy affirmed.

The glory of Vietnam helps spread the spirit of dedication, arousing faith and striving in the whole society

At the press conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep - Head of the Propaganda Department, Department of Politics, General Department of Defense Industry (Ministry of National Defense) - shared more about the participation of units in the People's Armed Forces.

He said that among the 13 groups honored this year, there are many units of the armed forces, including the General Department of Defense Industry - the unit that will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025).

Throughout the two long-term resistance wars to the period of peace, national construction and defense, the General Department of Defense Industry was one of the silent units, contributing its achievements and contributions to the armed forces in particular and to the national construction and defense in general.

"Why are we a silent unit, because the General Department of Defense Industry is a silently contributing force, constantly developing the capacity to research, design, manufacture, and repair weapons and technical equipment to improve the combat strength of the armed forces," said Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep.

He also emphasized that the military - defense industry is a rare industry with 4 separate resolutions of the Politburo to build and develop. Being honored is an honorable and proud surprise.

"I think the Voting Council and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have worked objectively and fairly, organizing public voting on the electronic information portal. This is a very meaningful activity and should be maintained to spread the spirit of dedication, arousing trust and striving in the whole society", Mr. Hiep expressed.
