The emulation movement "Good labor, creative labor" is becoming an important driving force to help Son La's workers, civil servants, and laborers improve productivity and work quality, contributing to promoting digital transformation and local socio-economic development.
After arranging the trade union organization according to the new model, the Provincial Labor Federation currently directly manages 186 grassroots trade unions with 12,627 union members.

Ms. Thai Thi Mai - Vice President of the Son La Provincial Labor Federation said that in recent years, trade union levels have promoted emulation movements associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, closely following the professional tasks of each agency, unit, and enterprise.
In the period 2020-2025, the whole province has more than 9,340 initiatives and solutions proposed, of which over 8,700 initiatives have been recognized at the grassroots level. Initiatives focus on production, business, education, health, administrative management and technology application, contributing to improving work efficiency, reducing costs and reforming administrative procedures.
Notably, 22 initiatives were awarded Creative Labor Certificates by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with a total benefit value of more than 62.5 billion VND.
Typically, the initiative to apply GEOPFES software to determine forest area to provide forest environmental services of Mr. Le Manh Thang, Son La Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund, brought about a profit of about 270 million VND.
The initiative to flexibly use tools in Microsoft Excel to synthesize and analyze big data by Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, Son La Department of Education and Training, brought about a value of about 500 million VND.
In particular, the multi-platform connection solution implements a live television bridge using a smartphone of Mr. Bui Trung Hau, Son La Newspaper and Radio, Television, helping to save costs and profit about 20 billion VND.
Along with the creative labor movement, many specialized emulation movements such as "Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning", "Promoting technical innovation initiatives", "Improving medical ethics", "Building cultural, safe, and exemplary agencies" were widely deployed, creating a spreading effect among cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.
In the field of healthcare, from 2020 to now, the entire industry has implemented more than 1,300 topics and initiatives; 16 topics were awarded the Creative Labor Medal by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Typically, the solution of using a fixed frame outside FESSA to treat intervertebral brachial fractures by the author group of Son La Provincial General Hospital, won the First Prize at the 9th Son La Provincial Technical Innovation Contest in 2024.


The creative emulation movement has also been effectively implemented in the education sector with the participation of more than 23,500 management officials and teachers. Campaigns to innovate teaching methods and apply information technology have contributed to improving the quality of comprehensive education.
Thanks to that, in 2025, Son La's high school graduation rate reached 99.59%; Son La city (old) became the 5th locality of Vietnam recognized by UNESCO as a member of the Global Learning Cities Network.
In the coming time, the emulation movement "Good labor, creative labor" will continue to be promoted, contributing to improving labor productivity and promoting socio-economic development of the province.
