Some businesses do not work overtime late, but still ensure income, helping workers have more time to take care of their families.

Focus on how to do it quickly

Ms. Le Thi Hien (33 years old) - Deputy Head of Administration and Human Resources Department at Pro Sports Hong Thuan Factory (Nam Dinh) - said that in early 2025, the General Director decided to change the company's working hours from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The total working time per day is 9am after lunch break.

According to Ms. Hien, although the time has been reduced compared to before by 30 minutes to 1 hour, the workers' income is still guaranteed. The average salary of employees at the company is about 8.5 million VND/month. In particular, according to Ms. Hien, more than 1/3 of workers earn over 11 million VND/month.

To ensure this income level, the company has focused on improving equipment and fast and effective methods to increase productivity. Every month, the company honors and rewards employees for their innovation ideas. "Regarding the management team, the company regularly organizes leadership skills training sessions and work arrangement for workers. As for workers, the company equips them with modern machinery, giving them attractive rewards for creating new, effective ways of doing things, as well as achieving high monthly productivity" - Ms. Hien said.

Similarly, Song Hong Xuan Truong Garment Joint Stock Company (Nam Dinh) also creates favorable conditions for employees regarding working hours. It is noted that from November 2024 to present, workers at the company have been able to return home early at 5:30 p.m.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich (30 years old) - a garment worker working at the company - informed that the company's working hours are from 7:15 am to 5:30 pm. Occasionally, goods go out quickly, and new workers need to work overtime until 6:30 p.m. According to this female worker, when working until 6:30 p.m., her income reaches about 11 million VND/month, if working until 5:30 p.m., she earns about 10 million VND. The company calculates salary based on output, so it depends a lot on skills and sewing process, time only affects a small part.

Spend more time with your family

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thao (28 years old) - a garment worker at Pro Sports Hong Thuan Factory - said that she has a small child so she really wants to work at companies that can let her go home early. This is the reason why Ms. Thao decided to leave her old company and move to her current company.

The female worker confided that her husband also comes home from work late, so the children's pick-up and drop-off and eating have to be done by their grandparents, which is quite a inconvenience. Now that she has finished her shift earlier, Ms. Thao is very comfortable preparing rice and water for her family and has more time to teach her children to study in the evening.

Talking about income, Ms. Thao expressed that she does not have much working time, so she has to speed up and often learn effective sewing techniques to increase productivity. The female worker shared that she is quite satisfied with her current income of 9 to 10 million VND/month.

Ms. Nguyen Bich - a garment worker at Song Hong Xuan Truong Garment Joint Stock Company - said that since the day they had to work earlier, the workers were all excited because in the evening they could do more work for their families. "I can pick up my child after work without having to pay for late parking. In the evening, after finishing the water and cleaning, I still have time to teach my children to study or go to exercise, said Ms. Bich. Thanks to her early work break, she can easily arrange her activities to have fun and eat in the evening instead of waiting until Sunday as before.
