The survey delegation of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) led by Mr. Nguyen Manh Khuong - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs worked with the Hai Phong City OSH Council, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and conducted field surveys at enterprises on the implementation of OSH policies and laws.
Reporting to the survey delegation, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Dao Trong Duc said that the city currently has more than 54,000 operating businesses, employing over 1.075 million workers. Over the past time, the city has established the OSH Council with 19 members, assigned the Department of Home Affairs as the Standing Agency; organized OSH training for 334,509 people; covered occupational accident and disease insurance for 1,017,875 workers (reaching 94.62%)...
However, in the first half of 2026, the whole city still recorded 192 labor accidents, killing 14 people and seriously injuring 81 people; of which the private business sector accounted for 78.57% of the deaths.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Manh Khuong suggested that occupational safety and health work needs to strongly shift thinking from passive response to proactive prevention, identification and control of risks, taking workers and businesses as the center. The Deputy Minister requested the city and the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board to continue to review the coordination mechanism when operating the local government at 2 levels; actively exploit the National Job Exchange; promote administrative procedure reform in foreign worker licensing associated with ensuring national security.
On the same day, the survey delegation inspected the actual work of ensuring OSH at Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Industrial Park).
