Hai Phong recovers social insurance contributions for nearly 300 workers
Information from Hai Phong City Social Insurance, in the first half of 2026, the unit recorded many positive results in the work of collecting, developing participants and controlling the situation of late payment of insurance. The total amount of late payment is 661,279,000,000 VND, accounting for 1.95% of the Vietnam Social Insurance revenue plan assigned, down 1.41% compared to the rate of late payment and evasion of Vietnam Social Insurance assigned in June 2026.
In parallel with the collection work, Hai Phong Social Insurance promotes inspection and examination to prevent late payment and evasion of insurance, and strictly handle violations. Also in the first half of the year, the City Social Insurance also issued 67 inspection decisions, including inspection of grassroots social insurance, collection and payment service organizations; remote inspection of units showing signs of late payment and evasion; planned inspection at 78 labor-using enterprises and 14 medical examination and treatment facilities.
Through inspection, the social insurance agency requested to retroactively pay social insurance for 169 employees with an amount of nearly 1.65 billion VND; retroactively collected contributions from 125 employees with an amount of 94 million VND; requested units to remedy the amount of late payment of more than 5.1 billion VND.
In addition, the social insurance agency also recovered nearly 728 million VND to the Health Insurance Fund, proposed to recover 484 million VND enjoyed in violation of regulations to the Social Insurance Fund; administratively sanctioned 2 units with an amount of 8 million VND. At the same time, handled more than 8,000 cases related to social insurance book issuance and over 1,000 cases related to health insurance card issuance.
According to Hai Phong Social Insurance, in the last months of the year, the unit will continue to deploy surprise inspections for businesses showing signs of late payment and evasion of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; strengthen urging collection and payment, regularly report to the People's Committees at all levels on the situation of performance of obligations of labor-using units in order to complete the revenue target for 2026 and continue to reduce the amount of late payment.
Quang Ninh proposes to sue 40 businesses for late social insurance payments
In Quang Ninh, the Provincial Social Insurance has just publicly announced the list of businesses that are late and evade insurance contributions, in which many businesses have filed lawsuits from the People's Procuracy and some businesses have had their dossiers transferred by the Provincial Social Insurance to the People's Procuracy.
According to this list, there are 40 enterprises that are late and evasive in paying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance with a total amount of up to tens of billions of VND. Notably, the enterprise with the largest amount of late and evasive insurance contributions is up to more than 20 billion VND, affecting the rights of nearly 250 workers.
Representatives of Quang Ninh Provincial Social Insurance said that the unit is continuing to coordinate with relevant units to prepare dossiers of businesses that are late or evading insurance payments to transfer to the People's Procuracy for consideration and lawsuit according to Resolution No. 205/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting the People's Procuracy to initiate civil cases to protect the civil rights of vulnerable groups and public interests.
Quang Ninh Provincial Social Insurance will periodically provide a list of units that are late in paying or evading insurance contributions in the area for the Procuracy to coordinate in monitoring and proposing handling, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of employees.
Over the past time, the People's Procuracy of Region 2, under the People's Procuracy of Quang Ninh province, has coordinated with Quang Yen grassroots social insurance, Quang Ninh province, to resolve 5 public interest proceedings related to 5 businesses in the area that are late in paying and evading social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; recovering a total amount of 261,347,302 VND into the Social Insurance Fund.
According to Quang Ninh Provincial Social Insurance, as of June 30, 2026, the whole province still has 433 units that are late in paying and evading social insurance, unemployment insurance, and health insurance for more than 3 months and have late payment and evasion amounts of 10 million VND or more; corresponding to late payment amounts of over 96.2 billion VND (excluding units that have reported a complete labor reduction and units that have dissolved, gone bankrupt, stopped production and business activities...); affecting the legitimate rights of 3,444 workers.
