According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in the period of 2021-2025, most of the Trade Union Organization's Fund for Supporting Capital for Employed Poor Workers (City Fund) has basically registered to operate under the microfinance Project Program. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Capital Support Fund is registered as a microfinance institution (according to the provisions of the Law on Credit Institutions).
The Support Funds have made significant contributions to the activities of caring for the welfare of union members and workers, focusing on union members and workers in poor and difficult circumstances. Every year, nearly 370,000 union members and workers (mainly poor workers) have access to capital, with loans ranging from VND 30,000,000 to VND 50,000,000/borrowing contract.
The loan from the Capital Support Fund has helped union members and workers expand their jobs (livestock farming, farming, online business...), thereby increasing income, improving the quality of life for themselves and their families.
The lending activities from the Capital Support Fund have made important contributions to creating jobs, increasing income, improving the quality of life for union members and workers, and have practical significance for union members and workers in poor and difficult circumstances.
The Fund's activities have contributed to the goal of poverty reduction and building a comprehensive financial system among employees. Through support activities, capital has been linked and attracted more workers to join and operate the Trade Union, contributing to the development of union members, promoting social activities, and building a strong Trade Union organization.
