Thousands of disadvantaged workers receive support
On July 11, Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union - said that in May 2025, at the industry level, Vietnam Railway Corporation (Vren) coordinated with the Vren Trade Union to organize many activities to care for the lives and improve working conditions for employees.
Accordingly, 6 working groups including representatives of the Party leadership, the Board of Members, the Board of Directors, the Trade Union, the Youth Union and the Advisory Committees inspected, visited and encouraged workers on railway lines.
The working groups presented support with many equipment to improve working and living conditions and visit workers in disadvantaged areas such as: Rung La, Deo Ca, Deo Hai Van, Khe Net, Bac Thuy slope, Hanoi - Dong Dang route, Western railway line... Notably, the operation of the solar lighting system for 3 railway tunnel in the Deo Ca area contributed to improving train safety and labor safety for workers.
The Corporation has organized the "Thank you to employees" Program, subsidies for employees in difficult circumstances... The Vietnam Airlines Trade Union organizes a program for nursing and health recovery for employees who have had work accidents and have decreased health; organizes visits and encourages employees and employees; supports equipment to improve working and living conditions for employees.
Responding to the Government's program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses", the Vietnam Construction Trade Union and its professionals coordinated to support the construction and repair of 9 houses for workers; support the construction of 3 houses of gratitude for the people of Quang Tri province; units contributed to support the construction of 6 houses for workers. In Workers' Month 2025, the total budget spent at the industry level on employee care activities is more than VND 4.363 billion.
At the grassroots level, the trade union coordinated with professionals to visit more than 2,800 workers facing difficulties, serious illnesses, and work-related accidents with a total cost of nearly 5.7 billion VND (of which more than 2.6 billion VND is from the trade union); at the same time, invested in 717 works and equipment to improve working conditions in remote areas, and difficult steep passes with a cost of more than 3.34 billion VND.
Continue to build and repair 80 houses for workers
According to the leader of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, from now until the end of 2025, to contribute to building harmonious, stable and progressive relations at units and enterprises, trade unions at all levels will continue to innovate the organization and methods of trade union activities with the motto "towards the grassroots, for the grassroots and for the workers"; well perform the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
There is a spirit of solidarity, promoting democracy; innovating the content and methods of organizing activities; attaching importance to inspection and supervision work; promptly resolving and coordinating the resolution of employee's recommendations to ensure the harmony of interests of employees and employers, contributing to building and developing businesses.
In particular, it is necessary to build a team of union cadres with knowledge, capacity, qualifications, courage and enthusiasm to meet the requirements of the workers' movement and union activities in the new situation.
Along with that, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will organize activities to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025); organize activities to celebrate the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Party Committee; towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (February 25, 1946 - February 25, 2026), 80 years of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Traditional Day (October 21, 1946 - October 21, 2026)...
Implement the work of reorganizing the apparatus in the trade union system according to the instructions and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Party Committee of Vietnam General Corporation; organize activities to care for employees; support employees in difficult circumstances to have children to attend colleges and universities in the 2025 - 2026 school year; build and repair 80 houses for employees in difficult circumstances in the entire industry (phase 2024 - 2026); complete before September 2026.
