On December 23, Panko Vina Co., Ltd. (My Phuoc 1 industrial park, Ben Cat ward, Ho Chi Minh City) issued a notice about the termination of the company's production and business activities.
Panko Vina Co., Ltd. said it has been in production and business in Vietnam for 23 years. Recently, the company has encountered many difficulties, and the enterprise has made every effort to maintain production and business activities. However, continuing to do business in the current context is not feasible.
After carefully considering related factors, Panko Vina Company Limited informed all employees that it will end production and business activities from February 1, 2026.
"We understand that this decision will affect the lives of all officers and employees of the company. The company is committed to fully fulfilling its obligations related to employees according to the provisions of law" - Panko Vina Company Limited said.
Speaking to reporters, a representative of the company's grassroots trade union (CDCS) said that the above announcement was made public at 2:00 p.m. the same day. This information made workers disappointed because the company recently announced a Tet holiday schedule.
The reason the company is having difficulties is that since the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has not been able to find orders. In addition, the company also has a factory in Quang Nam, so it wants to focus on production in one place in the context of few orders.
According to the company's Trade Union, the entire factory in Ben Cat currently has about 2,700 workers. On December 24, the Trade Union will collect recommendations from employees to discuss with the company. Through preliminary understanding, workers hope that the company will pay the 13th month bonus in 2025, because by this time the workers have worked for the rest of the year.
According to the company's Trade Union representative, up to this point, there is no information that the company owes wages and social insurance to workers.
