The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province said that Sao Mai Agricultural and medicinal product processing factory in the west of the province has been completed and has just officially started operating since the beginning of September 2025. This is one of the projects to celebrate the first Quang Ngai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
This event has opened up many job opportunities for hundreds of local workers, especially ethnic minorities. With a total investment of 500 billion VND, the factory has an area of over 50,000m2, equipped with a modern production line, meeting international standards.
The factory's designed capacity reaches 10,000 tons of processed fruit products/year, with an expected revenue of 100 million USD/year. Key products include juices, thick water, fresh fruits, dried fruit and herring-based wintering products. Sao Mai Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company is also developing a 2,000-hectare raw material area in Quang Ngai, focusing on passion fruit, pineapple, mango, and guava.
The factory is put into operation not only to create direct jobs for local workers but also to create jobs for many households in the large area of agricultural and medicinal materials in mountainous areas, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products, promoting sustainable socio-economic development of Quang Ngai and the Central Highlands.
