Ho Chi Minh City - More than 2,000 workers and laborers working in Ho Chi Minh City will receive health check-ups, disease screening and free legal advice.

Towards the goal of improving the quality of health care and protecting workers' rights, practically celebrating the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor chaired and assigned Lao Dong Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to coordinate with the Central Vietnam Young Physicians Association and Vietnam Bar Federation to organize the program "Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam" in 2026 at Binh Duong International Exhibition Center (Ho Chi Minh City) on the morning of June 21.

The program is implemented to concretize Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025 of the Politburo on strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health; and at the same time is a practical activity to implement Directive No. 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over propaganda, political, ideological, and legal education for workers in the new situation.

This is also an activity contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress on strengthening legal advice, health care, and protection of the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members, workers, and laborers.

This program is a continuation of the success of the "Giving Workers Health - For a Healthy Vietnam" Day held in Bac Ninh province in May 2026.

With a scale of more than 2,000 workers and laborers working in Ho Chi Minh City, the program prioritizes supporting workers in difficult circumstances, female workers, migrant workers, people working in environments with occupational risk factors or at risk of non-communicable diseases and occupational diseases.

The highlight of the program is the free health check-up, consultation and screening activities according to the professional guidance of the Ministry of Health.

Workers are fully clinically examined in all specialties, performed necessary tests and diagnostic imaging; at the same time, they are consulted on nutrition, exercise, mental health, reproductive health, safety, occupational hygiene and occupational disease prevention and control.

Screening activities are strengthened with the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence through the khoemanh. net platform, contributing to supporting early detection of health risk factors.

All examination results are updated into the electronic health record on VNeID and synchronized with the national health management system, creating conditions for long-term health monitoring and care for workers.

Along with health care activities, a prominent content of the program is free legal advice for workers with the participation of a team of lawyers from the Vietnam Bar Federation.

The consulting content focuses on practical issues such as labor law, social insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational safety and health, occupational accidents, occupational diseases and the legitimate rights and interests of workers in labor relations.

In particular, legal situations are built in the form of interactive skits and direct counseling to help workers easily access, understand and improve their skills in protecting their legitimate rights.

Within the framework of the program, "Workers' Day" is organized with many cultural and artistic exchange activities, health communication, legal propaganda, social security booths....

This is an opportunity for workers and laborers to access practical services, while raising awareness about health care and self-protection skills in labor.

The Organizing Committee also presented 100 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, people affected by illness, work accidents or in special circumstances; at the same time, organized delegations to visit some worker dormitories in the city.

Through the program, the Organizing Committee wishes to continue to replicate the coordination model between Trade Union organizations, local authorities, the health sector, the Bar Federation and the business community in health care and legal companionship with workers; contributing to building a healthy Vietnamese workforce with knowledge, skills and legal understanding, meeting development requirements in the new period.
