Workers want legal advice
The program "Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam" will be held on June 21 at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center, Ho Chi Minh City.
Knowing this information, Ms. Le Thi My Lan (resident of a boarding house in Linh Xuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Previously, due to lack of legal knowledge, I did not have time to complete procedures to enjoy unemployment benefits when temporarily losing my job, causing many difficulties in life. I hope that in the future, there will be more lawyers and legal experts coming to the grassroots level for advice and support to help workers understand more legal knowledge.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen The Cuong (a worker renting a room in Linh Xuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City) also shared: "Many workers have little access to official legal information, so they often encounter troubles in life. If lawyers of the Vietnam Bar Federation directly advise workers, it would be very good, helping workers feel somewhat more secure," Mr. Cuong said.
Not only Ms. Lan and Mr. Cuong, but many other workers also lack legal knowledge and want to have more legal advice programs from trade union organizations and lawyers.

Strengthening the "legal shield" for workers
For many days, students of the Trainee Court Session Club of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law have been actively practicing comedy plays that incorporate legal situations very close to workers' lives regarding salaries, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, civil, and criminal matters to perform at the program.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh - Head of the Intern Session Club of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law - shared that the members of the club are very happy to participate in performing plays at the program.
Everyone is trying hard to practice and looking forward to the day to participate in the program. In addition to the joy of contributing to the community, this is also a good opportunity for you to gain more knowledge about the law in the field of labor," said Nhu Quynh.

Sharing about the program, Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Media Agency of the Vietnam Bar Federation, said that legal advice to help people and workers have more legal knowledge is one of the functions and tasks of lawyers. This is the social responsibility of lawyers and is stipulated in the Law on Lawyers and the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of Lawyers.

Lawyer Hau also said that the legal advice program for workers is a very practical activity to strengthen the legal shield for workers.
When workers understand the law, they will comply with the company's labor regulations, comply with the law, behave appropriately and know how to use legal tools to protect their legitimate rights, thereby limiting unnecessary labor disputes and building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations," lawyer Hau emphasized.
Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that trade union levels in Ho Chi Minh City always pay attention to propaganda and dissemination of laws to union members and workers through many diverse forms such as organizing dialogues, legal advice, law-finding contests, online propaganda, distribution of propaganda materials at enterprises...

Faced with the increasing demands of reality, coordinating with a team of lawyers to organize large-scale legal advice programs will help improve the quality of legal propaganda, and at the same time create conditions for workers to directly access experienced legal experts. When workers understand the law, understand their rights and obligations, they will limit violations of labor regulations, know how to protect their own interests and contribute to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations," Mr. Thai said.
Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam
Towards the goal of improving the quality of healthcare and protecting workers' rights, practically celebrating the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association in coordination with Lao Dong Newspaper, the Vietnam Bar Federation and accompanying units organized the program "Giving health and legal advice to workers - For a healthy Vietnam" in 2026 taking place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Binh Duong Conference and Exhibition Center, Ho Chi Minh City.
With a scale of more than 2,000 workers and laborers working in industrial parks and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh City, the program prioritizes supporting workers in difficult circumstances, female workers, migrant workers, and people working in environments with occupational risk factors or at risk of non-communicable diseases and occupational diseases.
The highlight of the program is free health examination, consultation and screening activities according to the professional guidance of the Ministry of Health. Workers are fully clinically examined in all specialties, performed necessary tests and diagnostic imaging; and are also consulted on nutrition, exercise, mental health, reproductive health, occupational safety and health, and occupational disease prevention.

In addition to healthcare activities, the program also organizes free legal advice for workers with the participation of lawyers from the Vietnam Bar Federation. The advice content focuses on practical issues such as labor law, social insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational safety and health, occupational accidents, occupational diseases and the legitimate rights and interests of workers in labor relations.
In particular, legal situations are built in the form of interactive skits and direct counseling to help workers easily access, understand and improve their skills in protecting their legitimate rights.
The Organizing Committee also presented gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, people affected by illness, work accidents or those in special circumstances...
