According to a report by the Department of Finance, the socio-economy in April and the first 4 months of 2026 continued to maintain positive growth momentum. The industrial production index (IIP) for 4 months is estimated to increase by 14.66% compared to the same period; of which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 16.24%. Trade and services are vibrant; total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated to reach over 99.2 trillion VND, an increase of 16.48%.
Budget revenue by April 30, 2026 reached 26,084 billion VND, equal to 31% of the estimate. Credit and banking are stable, meeting the needs of production and business capital. Investment attraction achieved positive results with 86 new projects and 72 capital increase projects, total registered capital over 45.497 billion VND and 328.15 million USD.
Agricultural production is closely directed; the Spring crop is basically on schedule, the area of flowering rice is about 59,000 hectares; livestock and aquaculture are stable, and epidemics are controlled.
The cultural and social field continues to achieve many positive results. Health proactively prevents and controls epidemics, improves the quality of medical examination and treatment, and gradually deploys electronic medical records. Education and training are well prepared for the 2026 high school graduation exam.

Labor, employment and social security are guaranteed; 4 months of job creation for more than 20.6 thousand workers. Policies for people with meritorious services and vulnerable groups are implemented promptly. Cultural and sports activities are vibrant, improving the spiritual life of the people.
Besides the achieved results, there are still shortcomings such as slow disbursement of public investment, some prolonged projects; pressure on budget revenue, land, and environment is still high.
Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen emphasized that the results of the first 4 months of the year are quite comprehensive, but to achieve the double-digit growth target in 2026, the tasks are still heavy. Requesting departments, branches, and localities to accelerate disbursement of public investment capital, striving to complete 100% of the plan, initially reaching the national average level.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to monitor the growth scenario, advise on flexible management; review public assets, and handle slow-progress projects.
The Department of Construction completes the planning of transport and urban infrastructure. The Department of Agriculture and Environment deploys centralized waste treatment areas. The Department of Home Affairs reviews job positions and arranges staff. The Department of Science and Technology promotes digital transformation and innovation.
Communes and wards need to proactively remove difficulties, accelerate site clearance, ensure project progress; thoroughly handle waste that is not in accordance with regulations, strengthen waste collection and classification, and build a green, clean, and beautiful environment.
