Ms. Nguyen Thi Chin, in charge of the kitchen, said that the Union Meal on July 24 was organized for over 4,000 union members and workers of the entire Company. Noi Bai Factory alone prepared about 3,000 servings for all shifts. The menu has fried shrimp, fried chicken thighs, and rare beef with lemon. A meal is worth 80,000 VND, of which the grassroots union supports 50,000 VND/meal.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, member of the Company's Trade Union Standing Committee, the normal shift meal time is 30 minutes, but for the Trade Union Meal, the business leaders decided to increase it by 10 minutes for the workers to enjoy the dishes.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh shared his joy with the workers and expressed his hope that the enterprise would have more meals similar to "Union Meals".
Mr. Tran Huy Hoan, who has worked in the transportation department for 20 years, was very happy to have a Union Meal. Mr. Hoan said that normally, he eats all the 30,000 VND, but because there is a lot of food at the Union Meal, Mr. Hoan does not eat rice, only food. Like many other workers, Mr. Hoan hopes to have more and more Union Meals.
On the same day, Truong Xuan Shoes Company Limited (Hanoi) organized a Union Meal with 595 meals for union members and workers. Meals are worth VND33,000/meal, of which the Company supports VND15,000, the grassroots union supports VND18,000/meal.
Previously, practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28) and following the success of the 2024 Trade Union Meal program, the Hanoi City Labor Federation instructed grassroots trade unions in the city to continue implementing the Trade Union Meal from July 20 to September 2.
Accordingly, the Union Meal Program is organized at grassroots unions of units and enterprises (or member unions, union groups, and departmental unions where there are many union members) in places where mid-shift meals or daily lunch are organized at the workplace for union members and workers.
The Union Meal Program demonstrates caring for material and spiritual life, aiming to build long-term welfare programs for union members and workers; attracting, gathering and developing union members, closely connecting union members and workers with the Union organization.
