Innovation, practicality, efficiency
Currently, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor has 587 grassroots unions with over 40,500 union members. Contributing to building a strong trade union organization, trade unions at all levels have overcome difficulties, performed well the task of developing union members and introduced outstanding union members to the Party for consideration and admission.
According to the plan, the commune and ward trade union congress must be completed before October 31, 2025; the grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions must be completed before November 30, 2025. The Congress was organized concisely, not more than one session, encouraging the organization of the 2025 trade union work to save time and money but still ensure solemnity and quality.
The 1st Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030, will be held after the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress and is expected to be completed before December 31, 2025, no more than two sessions.
Currently, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor has established 4 subcommittees including: Documents, Human Resources, Propaganda, Organization and Service, to implement the work on schedule. At the grassroots level, many units have completed the political reporting outline, organized to collect comments from union members and workers.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of a garment enterprise in Lao Cai Ward, shared: Our Trade Union considers this an opportunity to comprehensively review the activities of caring for and protecting workers. The comments are recorded frankly, in order to build a more realistic direction for the new term".
Spreading the emulation atmosphere towards the congress
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Chuong Phat - Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation said: "Preparing personnel content, documents, as well as contributing comments to amend the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union must ensure the Party's leadership principles, in line with the reality of the workers' movement and trade union activities in Lao Cai. This is a task that is both inheritable and innovative.
The Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor has also issued specific instructions on standards, conditions, and personnel procedures for the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Inspection Committee; restructuring the number of key officials at all levels, ensuring democracy, publicity, and compliance with regulations. At the same time, it is required that trade unions at all levels correctly, objectively and comprehensively evaluate the results of implementing the resolutions of the past term, determine specific and highly feasible goals and solutions.
In the mountainous commune of Bao Thang, hundreds of workers in industrial parks have responded to the movement "Good workers, creative workers" with initiatives to save hundreds of millions of VND for businesses. In Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai, school unions organize forums "Union members with union congresses", creating an exciting atmosphere and trust in the organization.
We hope that each cadre and union member will feel the meaning of the congress, thereby contributing their intelligence and proposing initiatives to make union activities increasingly closer and more practical to workers, said Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Chairman of the Yen Bai Ward Union.
With a proactive, responsible and innovative spirit, preparations for the Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress are being implemented synchronously and thoughtfully. A large number of cadres and union members believe that this congress will be successful, on schedule, and be an important first step towards the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term 2026 - 2031.
