Talking to Lao Dong, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan said that on the morning of October 27, Ms. Loan received an invitation from the People's Committee of Thien Huong Ward to attend the 2:30 p.m. conference on the same day regarding the case of Mr. Do Van Huu accidentally building a house on land owned by her and her husband.
At the meeting, Mr. Do Van Huu admitted to having built the land in the wrong location and hoped that Ms. Loan's family would resell the land plot that was built by mistake to him. The local government also encouraged Ms. Loan to resell the above plot of land to Mr. Do Van Huu's family at the current land price. "Regarding this proposal, I will consider, discuss with the family and make a decision later" - Ms. Loan said.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong, in September 2024, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan and her husband received a transfer of land use rights with an area of 60 m2 at plot No. 4856, map sheet No. 03 issued by the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city (old) on October 19, 2024. However, on November 12, 2024, when Ms. Loan's family came to inspect, they suddenly saw that the land was being occupied by Mr. Do Van Huu's family to build a 2-storey house.
Mr. Do Van Huu said that the construction of a house on the land of Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan was due to a mistake, because Mr. Do Van Huu's family also bought a plot of land, 4 plots from the location of this plot. The People's Committee of the commune has repeatedly requested to stop construction at the wrong location. However, Mr. Huu's family still deliberately continues to build and complete the house. Therefore, Ms. Loan and her husband filed a lawsuit.
The People's Court of Region I - Hai Phong held a first-instance trial of the case, forcing Mr. Do Van Huu to move all his belongings, dismantle all construction works on the land, and return them to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan and her husband.
