On the morning of October 3, at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Stadium, the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament took place, officially launching the journey of the 3rd season.
Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament; Comrade Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary Truong Duong of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Minh Chung - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh - Deputy Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; Comrade Nguyen Van Bac - Head of the Labor Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports; Comrade Nguyen Manh Truong - Deputy Head of the Labor Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the 2025 Football Tournament.
On the side of the Vietnam Football Federation, attending the Opening Ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi - Standing Member of the Vietnam Football Federation; Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation and Mr. Kim Sang-sik - Head Coach of the Vietnam National Team.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament - said: "Through the 2 seasons, the tournament has affirmed itself as a healthy playground, exchanging, meeting, and creating motivation for workers and civil servants.
The tournament is meaningful towards the 14th National Party Congress and organizing practical activities to implement major programs, resolutions, orientations and policies of the Party and State, as well as the context in which the whole country focuses on implementing the revolution of streamlining the apparatus.
This year's tournament has the participation of 40 teams. The organizing committee hopes to promote the results achieved in the previous two seasons, while creating new values. Through the tournament, we continue to affirm the stature and health of workers and civil servants nationwide....
The Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is an annual tournament jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
This year, the tournament enters its third season, continuing to affirm its role as a healthy and useful sports playground, creating opportunities for exchange, health training, and improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, civil servants, and laborers across the country.
In the third season, the tournament will go through 2 stages. The qualifying round will be held in the Northern region (Hanoi) and the Southern region (HCMC) to select the 16 best teams to qualify for the National Final Round, taking place at the end of October in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Northern qualifying round brings together 16 participating teams, including: Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union, Vietnam Education Trade Union, Ninh Binh Trade Union, Hai Phong City Trade Union, Dien Bien Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Hanoi City Trade Union, Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union, Phu Tho Trade Union, Vietnam Health Trade Union, People's Public Security Trade Union, Vietnam Bank Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, State Bank, VPBank, Agribank.
16 teams will be divided into 4 groups, competing in a round-robin to calculate points to select the 4 first and fourth-placed teams to the quarter-finals.
The quarter-finals are played in a knockout format. The 4 teams that qualify for the semi-finals will simultaneously receive tickets to the national finals. Meanwhile, the 4 teams that stopped in the quarterfinals will continue to compete in the play-off to select the remaining 2 tickets to the final round.
The total prize of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament - Northern region is up to 170 million VND. Of which, the regional qualifying champion team will receive 60 million VND, the second place team will receive 40 million VND, and the third place team will receive 20 million VND each.
In addition, the regional qualifying round has many other awards such as Best Player, Most Scored Player, Best Goalkeeper, Most Fair-play Team, Most Impressive Cheerleading Team, Best Referee Team. Each prize is worth 5 million VND.
All matches of the tournament are livestreamed on social networking platforms in the Tuoi Tre ecosystem, the tournament fanpage and the Vietnam Trade Union fanpage.
The Organizing Committee also received the support of Vietnam cable TV - VTVcab, VTVcab's VTVprime application will live all matches of the tournament. In addition, FPT Play will also broadcast important matches of the tournament.
