On average, the company contributes trade union funds of more than 6 billion VND per month, and more than 72 billion VND per year. Before the 8th, every month, the company contributes trade union funds to the account of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and is automatically deducted back to the account of the grassroots trade union according to regulations. "Thanks to the full contribution of trade union funds, the grassroots trade union has resources to organize activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members and employees," Mr. Nghiep said.
In Dong Nai province, there are also many units with many workers but always perform well in paying trade union dues, such as Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd., TKG Taekwang Vina Company, Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. These are all businesses with over 10,000 people to over 40,000 employees.

The grassroots trade union has proactively developed regulations on coordination between the grassroots trade union and the company's board of directors, which includes a clause that the trade union supervises the payment of social insurance and trade union fees and is also specifically bound in the collective labor agreement, which clearly stipulates which month and which day the company will pay trade union fees.

Without funding, trade unions cannot proactively care for workers

The grassroots trade union has regularly proposed to the enterprise to pay trade union dues according to regulations. However, due to difficult production and business situations, the enterprise only contributes for a few months each year. Functional agencies have worked, but the situation has not improved.
Similarly, Vinh Thong Production - Trading - Service Co., Ltd. (Tan Binh Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City) has also been late in paying trade union funds from November 2021 to now. A trade union official of Vinh Thong Company shared that due to lack of trade union funds, the grassroots trade union cannot proactively take care of union members and workers, and every time they want to visit union members and workers, they must make a written request to the company to pay money.
