Talking to reporters on the morning of August 2, Mr. Ngo Quang Tuan - Chairman of Hiep Hoa District Labor Federation - said that he and representatives of the authorities are actively involved in resolving the case.
Mr. Tuan said that implementing Decree 74 of the Government, on July 22, the company proactively increased the basic salary of workers by 220,000 VND/person/month; The adjusted meal fee increased from 20,000 VND/meal to 25,000 VND/meal.
In addition, workers working in fur, cotton, printing rooms... have their allowances increased from 6,000 VND/person/day to 10,000 VND/person/day.
“However, after receiving this notice, the workers disagreed and wanted the basic salary to increase by 260,000 VND/person/month; increased allowance from 600,000 VND/person/month to 700,000 VND/person/month" - Mr. Tuan said.
In addition, workers also raised a number of other suggestions, but the company has not yet resolved them.
After that, the Company's Grassroots Trade Union Executive Committee, after synthesizing comments and recommendations, sent them to business leaders. However, like last time, the company has not yet resolved these recommendations.
According to a report from the Bac Giang Province Labor Federation, due to no resolution from the company's leadership, at about 8:00 a.m. on August 1, all workers of factory 2 (600 people) stopped work on the spot. By 10 o'clock, all of the company's workers (1,600 people) stopped work and stayed on the company's premises, asking the Board of Directors to resolve the workers' petitions.
When the incident happened, the District Labor Federation, the District Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the District Police and the Grassroots Trade Union Executive Committee, representatives of the workers' collective organized a meeting with the leadership. company.
The company's leadership proposed a solution to increase the basic salary to 235,000 VND; From August 2024, overtime pay will be calculated based on the total basic salary plus attendance pay plus 50% of the worker's current seniority pay. (From January 2025), 100% of the worker's seniority pay will be calculated.
The company agrees to pay mandatory social insurance according to current company regulations + responsibility allowance + seniority allowance but will increase output by 15%.
However, the workers did not agree with the above contents and continued to request to resolve the recommendations: Increase the basic salary by 260,000 VND; Increase fuel and diligence by 100,000 VND; no increase in output; Actual basic salary plus gasoline, attendance, and seniority to divide overtime pay; Salary is calculated based on actual basic salary, does not apply to the salary the company is paying for insurance for employees. Workers also requested that all of the above increases be applied from July 1, 2024.
After the second negotiation, the company's board of directors agreed to increase the basic salary to 250,000 VND from July 1, 2024; From August 2024, overtime pay will be calculated based on the total basic salary plus attendance pay plus the worker's current seniority pay; Compulsory social insurance payment according to the company's basic salary with social insurance allowances according to regulations from July 1, 2024, but the output is left to the factory director to decide.
However, the employee collective did not agree with the above contents and continued to stop working collectively and at 4:30 p.m. the same day, the workers basically left the company.
Mr. Ngo Quang Tuan said, with this increase, the basic salary ranges from 4.4 million VND - 5 million VND/month, 15-28% higher than the regional minimum wage applied in the area. Currently, the regional minimum wage applied in Hiep Hoa district is 3,860,000 VND/month.
