On the evening of September 16, many localities and units in Kien Giang province organized activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. In Vinh Thuan district, the district Labor Federation coordinated with the district Youth Union and the district Red Cross to organize the program "Full Moon Festival Night" with the theme "Lanterns light up dreams".
Chairman of the Vinh Thuan District Labor Federation Le Kim Thoa said that the district labor federation presented 50 gifts to children of union members and workers, each gift worth 200,000 VND. In addition, it organized a "Mid-Autumn Festival" party for nearly 120 children of union members, civil servants, and workers in difficult circumstances; children with disabilities, children with serious illnesses, orphans (affected by the COVID-19 pandemic), and children living in poor households.
In Tan Hiep district, the district Labor Federation and the district Youth Union presented 150 gifts, including cakes, lanterns and 300,000 VND in cash to the children. The children were very happy to interact and participate in folk games with Cuoi and Hang.
At the Kien Giang Provincial Civil Servants' Union, the "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" program presented 200 gifts to children of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union said that in order to care for the material and spiritual life of the children of union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers at the grassroots trade unions of affiliated agencies and units, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, the Standing Committee of the Civil Servants' Trade Union has directed the grassroots trade unions to advise the Party Committees, coordinate with the leaders of agencies and units to organize fun "Mid-Autumn Festival" activities in many rich and diverse forms.... associated with rewarding and praising children with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year.
According to Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Truong Thanh Thuy, the organization of Mid-Autumn Festival activities aims to care for the children of union members and employees in agencies, units and enterprises, especially the children of union members and employees in difficult circumstances. At the same time, it promotes the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting children.
Thereby, we also seek the support of the government, all levels, all sectors and the coordination of employers to mobilize resources to care for, organize visiting and gift-giving activities; entertainment activities, creating a healthy and useful playground for children.
