According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An, a new labor force that meets the requirements of the industrial revolution and strong digital transformation is an urgent requirement today. Education and training are key links that determine the quality of human resources in the future. The team of trade union members who are lecturers, research staff and scientists working at educational institutions are the core force, contributing to promoting the process of creating resources that ensure quantity and quality.

The Vietnam Education Union is facing new opportunities to affirm its role and importance when it has the responsibility of caring for, protecting, supporting and accompanying the union member force, which is the intellectual team.

However, many new and difficult problems have also emerged for trade union organizations in the Education sector. That is changing the approach to care, protection, support, and companionship; the new approach is to detect difficulties in each union member's professional labor; mechanisms and policies for scientists to wholeheartedly focus, feel secure and confident in research and creativity...," Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An emphasized.

From that reality, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An believes that in order to contribute to a generation of workers in the new context, the Trade Union organization in general and the Vietnam Education Union in particular need to change the approach to tasks, change the way of organizing activities at the grassroots level, and change the direction from higher-level trade unions.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An also believes that the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress will certainly have breakthroughs to respond to the changes of workers and follow the flow of changes in the country. Mr. An expects the wisdom of delegates participating in the congress with strong, correct and accurate policies in the new way of trade union organization.

In which, focus on identifying the characteristics of the generation of workers and laborers in the new requirements. From there, identify new labor relations to effectively intervene with trade union-style tools.

To do so, the expected point at the 14th Congress is to identify the contingent of trade union officials as the key link. It is imperative to build a contingent of officials from the central to grassroots levels who not only have enthusiasm and a sense of dedication but also have sufficient qualifications and capacity to persuade workers, enough bravery to face and solve the challenges posed; solve the problem of trade unions not only domestically but also in the regional and global scope," Mr. An said.

Lieutenant Colonel CONG THANH THAO - Head of the Trade Union of the People's Police: Expecting a flexible mechanism to be both creative and maintain discipline

Talking to Lao Dong reporters, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao said that in the flow of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the national digital transformation, the People's Police Trade Union (CAND) has been and is affirming its key role in shaping and developing a new generation of workers. This is not only a political task but also a core mission to build a truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern CAND force.

Accordingly, the new generation of workers in the current People's Public Security Forces is positioned with strict standards: Dynamic in thinking, modern in style and specialized in qualifications. The People's Public Security Trade Union has proactively accompanied union members through emulation movements "Good labor, creative labor". No longer confined to purely administrative tasks, union members have quickly caught up with information technology, applying artificial intelligence and digital transformation to professional work, from population data management to administrative procedure reform.

This "companion" is clearly shown through the organization of training classes to improve professional skills, scientific forums and creating space for innovative ideas. Trade unions have truly become a "launch pad" to help workers not only master the law, be proficient in professional skills but also have open thinking, ready to adapt to the complex changes of security and order in the new era.

Sharing about the great expectations for the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, according to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao, union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces set very specific and enthusiastic expectations.

First, it is expected that the Congress will continue to have breakthrough policies on protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of workers, especially the salary and welfare mechanism in the context of a volatile economy.

Second, we hope that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will have more strategic orientations in digitizing trade union activities, helping the connecting thread between organizations and union members become more continuous and substantive.

Thirdly, regarding the specific characteristics of the armed forces, the People's Public Security Trade Union expects the 14th Congress to recognize and have flexible regulations, creating the most favorable conditions for trade unions in special units to maximize their creativity while still ensuring the discipline of the industry.

The activities of the People's Public Security Trade Union are not only limited to caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, but also lead and inspire each union member to become a modern "link", making important contributions to the cause of protecting national security. The 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress is a milestone to realize those aspirations, bringing the workers' movement and trade union activities to a new height," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Sang said that, in my role as a representative of workers, I hope that the upcoming Vietnam Trade Union Congress will have more breakthrough and practical policies to improve salaries and welfare for union members and workers.

Regarding salaries, he expects the Congress to propose adjusting the minimum wage to suit the actual living standards, ensuring that workers can cover basic needs. At the same time, there needs to be a transparent periodic salary increase mechanism, associated with labor productivity and business efficiency.

Regarding welfare, grassroots Trade Union officials wish to expand support policies such as social housing and kindergartens for workers' children, as well as improve the quality of insurance regimes. In addition, more attention should be paid to practical support items such as meals, travel, and health care.

Mr. Sang believes that if these policies are concerned and implemented effectively, the lives of workers will be increasingly improved, thereby contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.

According to him, for FDI enterprises, the biggest difficulty currently is the difference in management culture and approach between foreign employers and trade union organizations, leading to coordination and dialogue sometimes not being truly effective. In addition, pressure on productivity and costs also affects the increase in wages and benefits for workers.

According to him, for grassroots trade unions to promote their role well, grassroots trade unions need to be given more power in collective bargaining, especially in terms of salaries, benefits and working conditions. At the same time, there needs to be a clearer legal mechanism, strengthening negotiation skills training for trade union officials and supplementing resources to effectively implement activities to care for workers.

Leaving his hometown in Tuyen Quang to work in Hanoi, Mr. Nong To Hieu (born in 2004, Dao ethnicity) has only been attached to SEI Electronic Components Company for nearly 6 months. For him, the journey of working as a worker is not only for making a living but also an opportunity to change the future.

“Every month I receive a salary of about 12-15 million VND depending on the overtime time. But if I only do the job repeatedly, it is very difficult to go far. I want to learn more skills to have the opportunity to develop,” Hieu shared.

As a young worker, and from a highland background, Hieu understands his limitations in skills and qualifications. Therefore, he pays special attention to training programs to improve the qualifications of workers.

In the context of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the male worker expects the grassroots trade union to have more practical activities for young workers.

I hope the trade union will organize skills classes, vocational training or connect with businesses so that workers can learn advanced skills. Only with a profession can there be a stable future," he said.
