Attending the conference were Mr. Phan Huy Cuong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, leaders of the Provincial Industrial Zones Trade Union Board and a large number of grassroots trade union officials at enterprises in industrial parks.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Huy Cuong emphasized that grassroots trade union officials are the force directly representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; and are also a bridge between workers and businesses and trade union organizations.
According to Mr. Cuong, in the context of increasingly diverse labor relations, the requirements for grassroots trade union officials are also increasing.
Therefore, regularly updating knowledge, improving skills and professional qualifications is a necessary requirement for trade union organizations to operate substantively, effectively and better meet the needs of union members and workers.
At the conference, trainees were briefed on many key topics such as inspection and supervision work; trade union finance work; collective bargaining skills, building and implementing collective labor agreements; representation, care, and protection of the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; building strong grassroots trade unions.
For inspection and supervision topics, trade union officials are guided on content, implementation methods, skills to detect and propose solutions to issues related to the rights of union members and workers.
In the field of trade union finance, trainees are updated with regulations on the management and use of funds; the work of estimating, finalizing, and collecting and spending ensures compliance with regulations, thrift and efficiency.
Notably, the topic on collective bargaining and collective labor agreements focuses on equipping skills to collect information, prepare content, organize negotiations and supervise the implementation of commitments, aiming to build more beneficial terms for workers.
Through the training program, grassroots cadres' knowledge is consolidated, professional skills are improved, contributing to building a strong trade union organization.
