Participation in the competition involved 42 athletes from 5 units, including: Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial Party Committee Organization Commission, Lào Cai Newspaper, Provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Home Affairs. Accordingly, there were 12 male pairs and 9 female pairs competing in 2 events: men's doubles and women's doubles.
The pairs were divided into groups, competing in a round-robin format within each group to select the top team from each group to advance to the next round. Specifically, in the women's event, an additional second-placed team with the best performance was also selected to advance to the next round.
After 27 thrilling matches, the organizers awarded the first prize in the women's doubles event to an athlete from the Provincial People's Committee Office, the second prize went to a female pair from the Provincial Party Committee Office, and the third prize was shared by pairs from the Provincial Party Committee Office and the Lào Cai Department of Home Affairs.
In the men's event, the first prize went to a pair from the Provincial Party Committee Office, the second prize was awarded to a pair from the Department of Planning and Investment, and the third prize was shared by pairs from the Department of Home Affairs and the Provincial Party Committee Office of Lào Cai.
This is the first time the competition has been organized, but it has created a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere among the staff, leaders, and trade union members of some agencies and units within the Provincial Party Committee's Competitive Group and guest units; it has also contributed to encouraging and promoting the physical exercise and sports movement in agencies and units in general and the Pickleball training in particular.
On the same day, August 10, the Lào Cai Provincial Trade Union organized the launch of the Pickleball Club.
This is an activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024) and the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).
The Club has 30 members, consisting of full-time trade union officials of the Provincial Trade Union, industry trade unions, and staff and trade union members of some agencies and units in Lào Cai Province.
The Club was established to provide a playground for physical exercise, sports, and health improvement for trade union officials and members, contributing to the fulfillment of their assigned tasks.
