The union at the level directly above the base with the most union members and workers
There are about 167,000 workers working in Hanoi's industrial and export processing zones (IPs), including about 1,270 foreign workers. The average income of Vietnamese workers here is over 6 million VND/person/month. Currently, the Hanoi IPs-EPS Trade Union is directly managing 365 grassroots trade unions with 154,033 workers, including 145,710 union members.
Discussing the movement of workers and trade union activities of the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh emphasized that the Hanoi City Labor Confederation always prioritizes and focuses on the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union because this is the direct superior trade union with the largest number of unions and workers in Hanoi.
For example, during the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, the Hanoi City Labor Confederation organized 30 free bus trips to take workers from industrial parks and export processing zones back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet. The Hanoi City Labor Confederation also supported bus tickets in cash for 5,000 workers, mainly workers from industrial parks and export processing zones, to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet in the provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Bac Can, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, and Lang Son.
The City Labor Federation also presented 5,800 shopping vouchers to 5,800 union members and workers in difficult circumstances who visited and shopped at the Tet Market booths, each voucher worth 500,000 VND. Most of them were also union members and workers of Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones.
It is known that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, the Hanoi City Labor Confederation also supported 3,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances of the Industrial Park - Export Processing Zone Union, each with 1 million VND; 80 union members in difficult circumstances attended the Tet Sum Vay of the City Labor Confederation and 1,400 union members received vouchers to participate in the Trade Union Tet Market program organized by the City Labor Confederation...
Do not let labor conflicts occur, especially during Tet holiday.
One of the issues emphasized by Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh and requested the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union to implement is to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers, especially during the time before the Lunar New Year, to avoid conflicts in labor relations - thereby ensuring security and order.
Accordingly, the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union needs to resolve the recommendations and proposals of employees to promptly handle matters within its authority. For issues beyond its authority, promptly propose to the City Labor Federation for resolution; focus on disseminating and popularizing the law so that employees have a firm grasp of legal regulations to protect their own rights. Closely following the 2025 working theme "Focusing on developing union members, participating in building a clean and strong Party" of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union needs to continue to have more creative and drastic measures in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union said that by 2025, the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union strives for 85% of enterprises with trade union organizations to build, negotiate, sign and organize supervision of the implementation of the Collective Labor Agreement at the unit. The Collective Labor Agreement is one of the important bases for preventing, avoiding and resolving conflicts in labor relations.
Regarding the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, we will focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, and increasing the ratio of union members to the total number of workers in places where unions have been established. Increase investment in resources for this work, and at the same time train and improve the capacity of grassroots union cadres, especially key cadres, focusing on training in skills of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, dialogue skills, collective bargaining, etc.
