Increase support level to 90 million VND/house
On January 7, Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Coal - Mineral Industries Trade Union (TKV) said that in 2023, TKV Trade Union participated in amending the Regulations on the Social Fund of TKV Trade Union - Trade Union Shelter (MACD). Accordingly, increasing the level of support for building MACD houses from 60 million VND to 80 million VND/house. Following that, in 2025, TKV Trade Union agreed with the General Director of the Group to increase the level of support for building houses from 80 million VND to 90 million VND.
In the period 2023-2025, the TKV Trade Union has supported union members and workers to build and repair 477 MACD houses with an amount of 31.2 billion VND. Some units are interested in providing additional support to workers from the unit's funding such as Mong Duong Coal Company supporting 60 million VND/house; Cua Ong Coal Selection Company supporting 50 million VND/house; Mao Khe Coal Company, Da Bac Transportation Company supporting 30 million VND/house...
Every year, the TKV Trade Union also deducts the Group's welfare fund to support the construction and repair of houses for families of workers with serious occupational accidents and families of workers with reduced labor capacity. In 3 years, it has supported 48 policy families with an amount of 5.15 billion VND.
Leaders of TKV Trade Union added that currently in the entire Group, there are 22 units with collective housing areas for employees, with a total of 4,814 rooms, including 3,636 rooms for single households and 1,133 rooms for households.
In 3 years, units in the industry have organized 427 activities to build "Clean - Beautiful - Civilized" NLD housing areas, and organized the implementation of "Green Saturday". Along with that, units have invested in repairing and purchasing equipment for NLD collective housing areas with a total amount of 67.7 billion VND, with a trade union source of 4.2 billion VND.
Helping workers in difficult circumstances stabilize their lives
Mr. Trinh Van An - Chairman of the Trade Union of Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company (Quang Ninh) - said that implementing the Decision of the TKV Trade Union on housing support from the MACD Fund in 2025, by the end of 2025, 5 workers' families had been supported to build new houses, each family was supported with 90 million VND from the TKV MACD Fund, 20 million VND from the Company Fund and 5 million VND from the Company's Trade Union Fund; the remaining 1 family was supported with funds from the Company's Fund and the Company's Trade Union Fund, promptly helping workers overcome housing difficulties.
According to Mr. An, the families of workers supported all have particularly difficult circumstances. For example, the family of Mr. Le Duy Lien, worker of Workshop K5, has had to live in a low-rise level 4 house for many years, often flooded every time it rains heavily. Mr. Lien is the main breadwinner, his wife has no stable job, the family raises 5 young children, including one child with congenital ventricular distension, life is always in a state of shortage; Ms. Vu Thi Thuy, worker of Life Workshop - for many years has never had a private house, has to rent a room. Ms. Thuy alone raises 2 young children, low income, life is still very precarious, but she still persistently sticks to work, strives to rise up; the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Du, worker of Workshop VTG1, lives in a seriously degraded house. After the divorce, Mr. Duy alone raises two children who are in 8th and 10th grade.
