On January 9, informing Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Do Trong Sy - Director of Trong Sy Construction and Transport Co., Ltd. said: "The amount of nearly 700 million VND in the case of workers hanging banners demanding debt is not related to the project that the company is implementing".
According to Mr. Sy, at the project "Moving people from Tia Dinh village to Chua Ta village, Tia Dinh commune" (where workers and a group of people hung banners demanding debt), the enterprise does not owe workers' salaries. The debt amount of 685,480,000 VND according to the minutes of work between the parties is from other projects.
Mr. Sy also said that the incident on December 30th when a group of people hung banners demanding debt at the construction site where the enterprise was constructing had other motives. This not only caused insecurity and disorder in the locality but also directly affected the reputation and honor of the enterprise.
Explaining the debt of nearly 700 million VND, Mr. Do Trong Sy said that these workers have worked with the enterprise on many consecutive projects, not just one project.
Part of the labor wage we keep is to be paid directly to the people in front of the commune authorities, to avoid the situation of paying to the group leader but the workers are not receiving it as happened before" - Mr. Sy added.
The business director also affirmed that after Lao Dong Newspaper reflected, the investor paid the project warranty money to the company. By the afternoon of January 7, the company had paid wages to workers and groups of workers.
Currently, there are only 150 million VND of wages left for workers, the company will fully pay when the group leader takes the workers' confirmation signatures in the presence of the local authorities.

Regarding this issue, some workers and group leaders in the "banner raid" case sent messages of thanks to Lao Dong Newspaper after receiving money from the business.
Regarding the remaining 150 million VND, the group leader also confirmed that the parties have exchanged and agreed on a payment plan in the coming days.
Previously, on January 6, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting "Businesses are slow to pay benefits, workers hang banners demanding debt". Because the business owner owed nearly 700 million VND, on December 30, a group of workers hung banners asking the government, functional agencies and journalists to demand debt, causing special public concern.
The banners contain content asking functional agencies, authorities at all levels and journalists to help people get wages; at the same time, requesting the investor and the contractor consortium to pay workers according to the committed minutes.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
