Actively care for workers' lives
Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor currently has 11 district and city federations of labor, 3 industry unions and 1,324 grassroots unions, including 139 non-state enterprise unions and 3 grassroots unions.
The total number of employees in agencies, units and enterprises with Trade Unions in the province is currently 49,708 people. The total number of Trade Union members is 45,164 people.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. Be Thi Hoa - President of the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor - said that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, from the support of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Social Fund of the Provincial Federation of Labor, and local businesses, 4,376 gifts were given to union members and workers with a total amount of over 2.1 billion VND.
Of which, the Tet Sum vay program awarded 2,345 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, children of union members and orphaned workers with a total amount of 1.514 billion VND and 2,031 union members and workers in difficult circumstances were supported with 300,000 VND/gift to purchase goods through the e-commerce trading floor organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a total amount of 609.3 million VND.
The District and City Labor Federations, Industry Unions and Trade Unions have visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 30,843 union members and workers with a total amount of over 16 billion VND, received and presented 500 pairs of life buoys supported by the Golden Heart Social Security Fund to disadvantaged children in the province,...
Visited and supported 11 units with 10 million VND/unit, 116 union members and workers affected by storm No. 3 - Yagi with a total amount of over 500 million VND from the support source of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Labor Confederations of Thanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces. At the same time, received and presented 1,000 electric fans from the Chinese General Confederation of Labor to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the province.
The Provincial Federation of Labor Social Fund has supported 39 union members and workers in difficult housing circumstances to build and repair "Union Shelters" with a total cost of 1.3 billion VND; supported 114 union members and workers who died, suffered from serious illnesses, were in difficult circumstances, suffered from natural disasters, and fires with a total amount of 237 million VND.

Timely encouragement for union members in difficult circumstances
As one of the union members receiving support from the Union, Ms. Nong Thi Vuon, a union member of the Chi Lang District Medical Center, said: “Due to the impact of storm No. 3, I was injured. Fortunately, as soon as we received the information, the union at all levels were present, visited and supported me and my family, which made me and my family truly grateful.”
Similarly, for Mr. Trieu Duc Hoan, a member of the Labor Union of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Ethnic Minorities of Huu Lung district, the timely support from the Union was a great encouragement for him and his family to overcome difficulties after storm No. 3 destroyed their house and fields.
Talking about solutions for the coming year, the leader of the Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor said that all levels of the Labor Union in the province are striving to continue to be a reliable and solid support for workers in border areas.
