Big step forward in logistics infrastructure
On the morning of December 11, 2024, in Lang Son, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) officially inaugurated Viettel Logistics Park. This is the first logistics complex in Vietnam, built on the most modern scale, promising to become a new symbol of the country's transportation and logistics industry.
With the ability to handle up to 1,500 vehicles per day - double the current capacity - it offers a complete import-export logistics service chain, from customs clearance, quarantine, inspection, loading, warehousing to cross-border transportation.
The park’s data system is standardized and directly connected to Vietnam and China customs data, helping to shorten customs clearance processing time from 4-5 days to less than 24 hours. As a result, customs clearance costs are reduced by 30-40%, while the efficiency of refrigerated container transportation increases from 2.5 trips/month to 4-5 trips/month. This is a big step forward in solving the time and cost bottlenecks that the Vietnamese logistics industry is facing.
Viettel Logistics Park is built according to advanced technology standards such as IoT, 5G, AI, Big Data and Digital Twins. Automation solutions such as Smart Locker, drones and autonomous vehicles have been applied to optimize warehouse management and freight transport, helping businesses save up to 40% of logistics costs.
Committed to sustainable development and modern technology
According to research, the park is designed according to LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) standards, with more than 3,300 trees, a renewable energy system and a circular economic model. This is a testament to Viettel's commitment to building a green and sustainable logistics ecosystem, contributing to environmental protection and improving the quality of life.
To enhance the business experience, Viettel Post has developed the V-Gate application that allows online booking. This system integrates with smart platforms such as the transport management system (Smart Gate), warehouse management system (WMS) and financial services, ensuring the delivery process is transparent, efficient and fast.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group - emphasized: "Viettel Logistics Park is the first step in the roadmap to complete the national logistics network. We aim for 5 orientations: Smart border gate, agricultural logistics center, logistics in industrial parks, supply chain infrastructure and multimodal transport network".
Meanwhile, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh - General Director of Viettel Post - shared: "The term "park" evokes modernity, friendliness and systematic organization. We plant more than 3,000 trees, use renewable energy and implement a circular economic model, creating a sustainable working space".
The park includes major subdivisions such as the inter-departmental building, the workplace of customs, quarantine, tax and other authorities. The park's smart gate integrates AI, which helps to recognize license plates and process customs clearance three times faster than traditional methods. The automatic loading area reduces the delivery time from 3 hours to just 30 minutes, while the e-commerce processing area is equipped with AGV robots and automatic screening, with a capacity of up to 600,000 parcels/day.
In phase 2, Viettel plans to deploy additional centralized data centers, railway stations, and export processing zones. By 2030, the park will have a customs clearance capacity of 6,000 vehicles per day, helping to reduce congestion at the border gate and improve transportation efficiency.
Viettel is committed to deploying logistics infrastructure nationwide, including smart border gates in Lao Cai and Quang Ninh; logistics centers in Dong Nai and Da Nang; and agricultural product trading areas in Hung Yen and Ho Chi Minh City. With rapid and effective investment, Viettel aims to enhance Vietnam's position on the regional and international logistics map.
