Speaking at the opening of the festival, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of Le Chan Ward Trade Union emphasized that the Sports Festival is organized to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere among workers to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031 and to celebrate the success of the 1st Hai Phong City Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030.
Physical and sports activities contribute to improving health and physical strength for union members, workers, civil servants and laborers with the spirit of "Healthy to work, Building a strong Trade Union". At the same time, creating a healthy playground, strengthening solidarity, attachment, and mutual support between units, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life in workers, civil servants and laborers in the 2 wards.
Also through this activity, the Trade Unions of the wards wish to consolidate the trust of union members and workers and employees in the ward in the Party, State and Trade Union organizations at all levels; continue to encourage and motivate union members and workers and employees to actively emulation, labor production, and successfully implement socio-economic development goals.
The festival has the participation of more than 100 athletes from grassroots trade unions managed by An Bien Ward Trade Union and Le Chan Ward Trade Union. Coming to the festival, athletes competed in the breaststroke events (men's singles, women's singles, men's - women's doubles), 1,000 m long run (men's, women's), tug-of-war (men's, women's, solidarity) with the participation of 10 grassroots trade unions.
At the festival, the City Labor Federation presented 85 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances of Le Chan Ward Trade Union, 90 gifts to union members of An Bien Ward Trade Union on the occasion of Tet 2026. Each gift is worth 1,000,000 VND.
