Currently, Mr. Dang is receiving 2 military sick benefits and Agent Orange benefits with an amount of 6,016,000 VND. From July 1, 2024, Mr. Dang can receive a total amount of money from 7.2 to 8 million VND/month. Living in the countryside, according to Mr. Dang, this subsidy will ensure a relatively comfortable life.
“After increasing the allowance, my husband and I don't need to worry too much about our daily meals. I'm also willing to buy twice as many supplements as I do now to make my body healthier" - Mr. Dang confided.
Besides, Mr. Dang said that even though he is exempt from contributions to his village and commune, he still does not hesitate to support whenever he has the opportunity.
However, Mr. Dang did not forget to emphasize that currently there are still many of his teammates who only receive 1-2 benefits, so the benefit level is quite low. He wants the State to pay more attention to these subjects to be worthy of their efforts and sacrifices.
“Many of my teammates only receive 1 type of allowance or 2 types but less than 3 million VND/month. After this increase, they have only received a maximum of 4 million VND, it is still very difficult to ensure a living, especially when there are dependents" - Mr. Dang said.
For Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan (76 years old, Nam Dinh), if the two benefits for loss of health and Agent Orange are increased to the highest level of 35.7%, he will receive a monthly subsidy of 4.7 million VND/month. month. With this new money, Mr. Lan worries less and does not have to worry about his children as much as before.
“Previously, with 3.5 million VND in allowance, my husband and I had to calculate very meticulously, but our children still provided additional support from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND/month. They all have families, so many things to worry about, I really don't want to be a burden to my children" - Mr. Lan confided.
Discussing her plans after receiving an increase in allowance, Mr. Lan's wife said she would spend it all to buy better medicine for her husband.
Mr. Lan plans that after increasing the allowance, he will no longer take money from his children every time they go to parties and ceremonies. He also wants the State to pay more attention to people with meritorious services, adjusting the increase every year so that they can confidently buy medicine and food to ensure their health, without worrying about rising market prices.
