Arousing a creative movement among workers
On the occasion of Workers' Month 2026, the Da Nang City Labor Federation launched a contest of ideas, initiatives, and technical improvement solutions in production and environmental improvement "Green - Clean - Beautiful" with the theme "Da Nang Workers: Innovation, creativity, improving labor productivity".
According to the plan, the contest is for union members and workers of grassroots trade unions directly under the City Labor Federation. The ideas focus on many practical areas such as saving raw materials, energy, reusing waste products; applying technology to improve production processes, machinery and equipment; reducing emissions, treating waste; building a green, clean, and beautiful working environment.
The exam format includes an online preliminary round and a final round of direct presentation. Each entry must clearly show applicability, creativity, practical effectiveness and scalability.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said that the contest is not only an activity to respond to Workers' Month but also aims to arouse the spirit of creative labor, promote workers to proactively propose solutions to improve productivity and improve working conditions.
Da Nang has a young, dynamic workforce, working in many fields of industrial production, services, and technology. If conditions are created and there are appropriate incentive mechanisms, workers can completely contribute many valuable initiatives to businesses and the city," Mr. Dai said.
According to the leaders of the City Labor Federation, this year's contest also expanded its scope from technical initiatives to models to improve the working environment, in line with the requirements of green and sustainable development.
Hoping to reward initiatives to be included in agreements
The "Good Labor, Creative Labor" movement in Da Nang in recent years has created clear effects.
According to statistics from the City Labor Federation, in the last 5 years alone, thousands of initiatives and technical improvements of union members and workers have been recognized and applied in enterprises, bringing value and profit of hundreds of billions of VND.
Regarding the emulation movement in industrial parks, many initiatives focus on automation, optimization of production processes, saving electricity, raw materials, improving labor safety and reducing environmental emissions.
Many typical individuals have been honored, including initiatives that help businesses save billions of VND in operating costs each year or significantly increase production productivity.
However, many union members and workers in Da Nang believe that it is time to have a more transparent and stable reward mechanism for beneficial initiatives.
Mr. Duong Van Dam, a technical staff at a manufacturing enterprise in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, shared that many workers are very enthusiastic about technical improvements, but the current recognition regime is still inconsistent.
Workers have many initiatives to help businesses reduce costs and increase productivity significantly, but bonus levels vary from place to place.
Some businesses reward very well, but there are also places that only encourage symbolicly. This makes many workers not really feel secure in investing time and effort in research and improvement.
According to workers, if clearly stipulated in the agreement, the rights of people with initiatives will be better guaranteed, avoiding the situation of emotional recognition or rewards that are not commensurate with actual contributions.
Mr. Le Van Dai said that for the creative labor movement to go deeper, in addition to organizing contests and honoring typical examples, it is more important to build a sustainable remuneration mechanism.
Workers need to see that their initiatives are not only commended but also enjoy corresponding benefits. When rights are specified in collective labor agreements, this will be a great motivation for the creative movement to develop more sustainably," Mr. Dai emphasized.
