Strong decentralization of grassroots levels
One of the new points of this year's Workers' Month in Da Nang is the organization in the direction of strong decentralization to the grassroots level. Each commune and ward trade union is required to choose at least one highlight activity, with specific and measurable products, instead of spreading out.
At the same time, strive for over 70% of grassroots trade unions to implement response activities, creating widespread spillover effects throughout the system. Workers are not only beneficiaries but also participants, from policy comments, initiative proposals to direct participation in cultural, sports, and media activities.
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Chairwoman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation emphasized: "We aim to take practical efficiency as a measure. Each activity must have an imprint, specific results, and most importantly, create the attachment of workers to the trade union organization.
Also according to Ms. Linh, Workers' Month 2026 in Da Nang takes place in a special context, as this is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, and also commemorating the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day May 1.
Therefore, the activities are not only movement-oriented but also clearly oriented in terms of goals, content and effectiveness.
A noteworthy point is a series of activities to care for the material and spiritual life of workers designed in a specific and practical direction.
From visiting and supporting workers in difficult circumstances, workers who have accidents, occupational diseases, to organizing "Trade Union Meals", improving the quality of lunch meals, health check-ups, psychological counseling, reproductive health... all are aimed at improving the quality of life of workers.
In addition, welfare booths, preferential sales programs, cultural and sports activities are also widely organized at establishments, industrial parks, worker dormitories...
Promoting dialogue, initiatives and job connections
Not only stopping at care, Workers' Month 2026 in Da Nang also focuses on improving the capacity, skills and position of workers in the new context.
One of the highlights is the "May Dialogue" program, where heads of Party committees, authorities and businesses directly meet and listen to workers' opinions.
Along with that is the forum "Trade Union members contribute ideas to build Vietnam Trade Unions in the new era", creating space for workers to participate in contributing opinions to the trade union organization before the 14th Congress.
In parallel, the "Labor Skills Day - Sustainable Employment" program is organized to connect workers with businesses, provide labor market information, consult on retraining, improve skills, especially digital skills and adaptability in the context of digital transformation and green transformation.
In addition, the emulation movement for initiatives and technical improvements is also being promoted, with the goal of at least 10% of union members participating in proposing initiatives and at least 30% of them being applied in practice.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, this is an important direction to enhance the role of workers: "When workers not only work but also proactively create and propose solutions, they are directly participating in the process of improving the productivity and quality of businesses. Trade unions must be a bridge for those initiatives to be recognized, supported and spread.
