Many businesses pay union fees after Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection

On December 29, the Labor Federation of Hoa Binh province informed that as of December 27, a number of enterprises (among 76 non-state enterprises owing union fees of more than VND 9 billion) had paid union fees with a total amount of over VND 1.2 billion.

These enterprises belong to the Labor Federation of Luong Son district, Hoa Binh city, Da Bac, Lac Son, Yen Thuy, Lac Thuy, Kim Boi, the Trade Union of Industry and Trade, Industrial Parks, and Health. Typically, Thanh Son Company Limited has paid the union fee of nearly 287 million VND, currently only owing about 5 million VND; Dinh Nhuan Trading Joint Stock Company has paid more than 113 million VND, still owing 163 million VND; Thien Dieu Company Limited has paid 225 million VND, still owing 106 million VND.

Also according to the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, the total accumulated union fee debt as of December 27, 2024 is 61 units, with a total amount of more than 8 billion VND.

The following enterprises owe union fees: Hong An Shoe Joint Stock Company owes more than 2.6 billion VND; SMA VINA Viet Han Import-Export Garment Joint Stock Company owes nearly 1.38 billion VND; Trung Son Cement One Member Co., Ltd. owes more than 895 million VND; Thanh Bien Electronics and Telecommunications Joint Stock Company owes 170 million VND; Dinh Nhuan Trading Joint Stock Company owes more than 160 million VND; Wilson Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company owes more than 122 million VND; X18 Cement Joint Stock Company owes more than 296 million VND; RSN Global Garment Co., Ltd. owes nearly 550 million VND; Song Hong Production Joint Stock Company - Song Da Factory branch owes more than 270 million VND; Minh Trung Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company branch in Hoa Binh owes more than 264 million VND,...

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article “76 units in Hoa Binh owe union fees of more than 9 billion VND” reflecting on the fact that a series of enterprises are delaying the payment of union fees, affecting the operating budget of unions at all levels in performing their functions of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

Regarding the fact that many enterprises have not strictly implemented the regulations on deducting and paying 2% of trade union funds, avoiding payment, late payment, etc., the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province has directed departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, cities, and enterprises of all economic sectors to seriously implement the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Article 26 of the Trade Union Law 2012. At the same time, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Management Board of Industrial Parks of the province, the People's Committees of districts and cities are assigned to direct relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with the Labor Federation at the same level, industry trade unions to organize work, actively discuss with leaders of units and enterprises in the area that still owe trade union funds (according to the list provided by the Provincial Labor Federation) to propagate, mobilize, and help units and enterprises to properly perceive their responsibilities and obligations to fully and promptly pay trade union funds in accordance with the provisions of law...
