Grasping the difficulties of union members and workers, the grassroots trade union of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Thanh Phu Industrial Park, Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai City) has coordinated with the company's Board of Directors to deploy activities to visit workers in boarding houses and has become an annual activity of the company for many years. Accordingly, each year the company organizes 1-2 trips to visit boarding house workers, each trip visits 1,000 - 2,000 workers in Tan Trieu ward, Long Thanh ward, Trang Dai ward areas... where many workers are renting rooms to visit and give gifts.

The company's trade union said that the activity took place in a warm, close atmosphere, showing the practical concern of businesses and trade union organizations for the lives of workers working far from home. Although it was just short visits, the activity contributed to spreading the spirit of solidarity, companionship and responsibility between the Trade Union, businesses and workers. At the same time, it is an opportunity for businesses to affirm a united and sustainable working environment, where workers can feel secure and attached to work.

According to Mr. Dang Tuan Tu - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd., this is an activity to show gratitude and encourage union members and workers in production labor of a year, and at the same time encourage workers to have more working spirit in the following year.

Expecting workers to have housing

Similarly, the grassroots Trade Union of Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd. (Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park, Nhon Trach Ward, Dong Nai City) also annually has activities to visit workers in boarding houses. According to the company's grassroots Trade Union, every year-end, the Executive Committee of the company's grassroots Trade Union coordinates with the Company's Board of Directors to plan to go to boarding houses to visit workers, and at the same time give thousands of gifts to workers.

Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd. is one of the enterprises with a large number of workers in Nhon Trach ward, Dong Nai city with about 8,000 workers. To encourage workers living in boarding houses. The grassroots trade union executive committee and company leaders always care about workers' lives, thank workers for accompanying and contributing to the company.

Nhon Trach ward, Dong Nai city currently has 5 industrial parks and 1 industrial cluster, the number of temporary residents in the area is about 70,000 people and most are living in boarding houses.

Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Tuan Tu - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. - informed that the company has about 42,000 workers, of which 30% are migrant workers from the Central and Northern provinces. Currently, workers are living in boarding houses lacking many conditions.

Therefore, Mr. Tu hopes that trade unions, local authorities and businesses will join hands to build houses for workers so that they can stabilize their lives, build kindergartens for workers' children so that they can feel secure in working and producing. At the same time, Mr. Tu assessed that it is necessary to promote the construction of cultural institutions in each industrial park to serve workers.

According to statistics, the total housing demand in Dong Nai is about 600,000-650,000 people, equivalent to about 150,000-160,000 social housing units. Of which, about 70% is the demand of workers and laborers working in concentrated industrial zones and clusters.
