Hope your child enters life with a stable job
Mr. Le Dinh Su, 57 years old in Yen Phu village, Thuong Tin commune (Hanoi City) is currently a security guard at a restaurant near his house.
Mr. Su said that the job brings in an income of 8 million VND/month but is quite hard, because he has to work about 13 hours a day, often staying up late and waking up early.
Mr. Su's wife works as a kitchen worker for a grill restaurant near her house, earning about 8.5 million VND/month.
According to Mr. Su, with an income of nearly 17 million VND/month, he and his wife try to manage to take care of life and take care of the education of their youngest son who is in 12th grade. Mr. Su's two older children have married and moved out to live separately.
The luckiest thing is that Mr. Su and his wife did not have to rent a house. With money for living expenses, Mr. Su and his wife are as frugal as possible.
According to Mr. Su, the cost for extra classes, rent, food and living expenses of his son at times amounted to 10 million VND/month. His son is studying far from home, renting a room with relatives.
Mr. Su is most worried that every time the new school year begins, the family will have to prepare more expenses such as school supplies, uniforms and personal expenses for his children.
At the beginning of the school year, my child often has to buy more personal items. There are many items that need to be prepared at once, so it is quite expensive. My husband and I try to divide income to have a separate amount of money to take care of our child's full education. No matter how hard it is, we try our best to ensure that our child is properly educated and has a better future than his parents," Mr. Su said.
For Mr. Su, the motivation for him to try to work is not only to have income to cover living expenses but also from the desire for his children to have a more stable future. Born into an agricultural family, he understands the hardship of life "selling his face to the land, selling his back to the sky", so he even more hopes that his children will be educated, have a career and a stable job in the future.
For decades as a farmer, I understand the hardships. I just want my children to be well-educated and have stable jobs, which would be different from their parents' time. I hope my children will enter life with a stable job," Mr. Su shared.
At the age of 57, although security work is still very hard, Mr. Su still determines to continue to try as long as he is healthy. For him, long working hours or monthly expenses that need to be calculated are worth exchanging, as long as his youngest child can complete his studies as expected.
Spending a whole month's salary on enrollment for children
Ms. Nguyen Thi Man, 40 years old, from Ngoc Trao commune (Thanh Hoa province) is currently working as a garment worker at Bim Son Industrial Park (Quang Trung ward, Thanh Hoa province).
Ms. Man said that she has been a garment worker for 10 years, her current income is about 10 million VND/month. Her husband and friends organize wedding services, with an income of about 8 million VND/month. The total income of the couple is about 18 million VND per month.

Ms. Man and her husband have 2 children, the eldest child just passed the Hong Duc University (Thanh Hoa) entrance exam, the youngest child is in 9th grade this year. For many years, Ms. Man and her husband have carefully taken care of their 2 children's education with the desire that their children have a bright future and stable jobs.
This year, Ms. Man and her husband have more joy when their eldest child is admitted to university, but in parallel with that is the worry of having to save spending, balance expenses to have money for their child to study far from home with many incurred costs.
“This school year's opening will be heavier for my husband and I when we have to worry about the eldest child entering university and the youngest child entering 9th grade. Normally, the opening is always the occasion to prepare the most expenses to worry about in the year. This year, I have planned that on August 10th, after taking my salary, I will save the entire amount of money, in addition to worrying about my children's education,” Ms. Man shared.
The older the children, the more tuition fees, Ms. Man is worried because summer is also the off-season for weddings and ceremonies, so her husband does not have regular work. Her great consolation and hope is that every year the company will increase salaries for employees somewhat, so she will have more money to take care of her children.
I am preparing for my child to buy uniforms and books; especially for the older child, I have to buy many personal items for her to take with her to enroll. The most serious are tuition fees for the older child, rent and food. Not only to save this August salary, before that I had prepared and accumulated more to be enough to take care of the children fully," Ms. Man said.
Ms. Man added that the distance from home to the company is 13km, every day she travels 26km both ways. Many of her colleagues rent houses near their workplace for convenient daily travel, but with this mother of 2 children, if she saves any expenses, she will absolutely cut them to take care of her 2 children's studies.
