The Organizing Committee of the seminar includes Mr. Phan Van Thang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Dong Thap; Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of Dong Thap; Mrs. Phan Thu Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper; Mr. Tran Van Viet, Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, Head of the Provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization of Soc Trang, and leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) of the province, the Labor Union of the provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta (MCD).
At the opening ceremony of the seminar, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of Dong Thap stated that in recent years, Dong Thap province has identified human resource training as a key factor in the process of socio-economic development. The locality believes that sending workers (W) to work abroad not only improves their skills and income but also provides an opportunity to improve their knowledge, skills, and working style to continue to develop after returning to the country.
"The organization of the seminar aims to have delegates from provinces in the MCD region and experts in the field of sending W to work abroad share, exchange, and discuss useful information to further develop the human resource going to work abroad" - Mr. Nghia said.
According to the statistics of the DOLISA of Dong Thap province for 10 years (from 2014-2024), the province has sent over 15,400 W to work abroad under contract, with the majority being in the Japanese market. After surveying 1,107 workers who went to work abroad and returned to the province, 43 workers started a business, bought and sold.
Mr. Ho Huynh Thi (1993, Lấp Vò district) who participated in working in Japan for 5 years and returned to the country to teach at Sen Dai Duong Company shared his experience: "W must determine their clear goals and be determined to achieve them regardless of the circumstances, must always think about the time to find their own opportunity to start a business from their experience of working abroad".
To promote the work of sending W to work abroad under contract in the context of many difficulties, Mr. Pham Viet Cong - Director of the DOLISA of Dong Thap province stated that he would push forward the work of propaganda, improve the quality of W going to work abroad, strengthen state management.
"We will implement policies to support and exploit, use the income and knowledge, experience, skills of W who have gone to work abroad and returned to the locality" - Mr. Cong added.
At the seminar, delegates and experts will continue to discuss and find solutions to improve the quality of human resources, support policies for W to work abroad under contract.
