To celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1), at the Quang Ninh Provincial Conference Organization Center, a Central Working Delegation led by Comrade Pham Gia Tuc - Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister - visited and presented gifts to policy families, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances in Quang Ninh province.
Also attending the program were Mr. Ngo Van Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Agencies; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Don Tuan Phong - Deputy Chairman of the Government Office; Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province.
At the program, leaders of Quang Ninh province gave a general report on the situation of people's lives, social security work, and care for policy beneficiaries, workers and laborers in the province in the past time.
Quang Ninh currently has about 257,000 workers; the average salary in all types of enterprises reaches 12.72 million VND/person/month. The rate of workers participating in social insurance reached 51.03%, 6% higher than the Central target.
The whole province is managing over 48,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs and subjects worshiping martyrs.
In the period 2024 - 2025, the province has supported 862 households of people with meritorious services to build new and repair houses.
During the 2026 Lunar New Year, trade union levels in the province visited and presented gifts to about 14,000 workers, civil servants, and laborers, with support levels ranging from 500,000 to 2 million VND/person.
The Provincial Labor Federation has awarded 1,968 gifts with a total budget of over 2 billion VND; organized 2 programs "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" for more than 1,400 workers in difficult circumstances.
Thanks to the effective implementation of social security policies, people's lives continue to improve; housing support, vocational training, and job creation programs are implemented synchronously. Trade union levels and businesses actively care for and protect the legitimate rights of workers.
Speaking at the program, Comrade Pham Gia Tuc, Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the results Quang Ninh has achieved in socio-economic development, taking care of social security, and improving people's lives.
The Standing Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that caring for policy families, people with meritorious services, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances is a good tradition, reflecting the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", the spirit of mutual affection of the nation.
It is proposed that Quang Ninh province continue to pay attention to better implementing social security policies, taking care of people's lives; Trade union levels, local authorities and businesses continue to have policies to care for and encourage workers and laborers to strive to work and produce, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the locality and the country.
On this occasion, Party and State leaders and Quang Ninh province presented 200 gifts to policy families, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances.
On the same day, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thuc (Cao Xanh ward).
Here, the Deputy Prime Minister cordially inquired about the health and life and expressed his deep gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
The Standing Deputy Prime Minister wished Mother to live happily and healthily, and continue to be a role model for her children and grandchildren to follow, contributing to educating the young generation to promote patriotism and build their homeland and country.
