In the context of union members and workers' lives still facing many pressures from price fluctuations, living expenses and increasingly high requirements of the labor market, caring for the welfare of union members and workers is not only a regular task but has become an urgent requirement.
In Dong Thap, Resolution No. 07-NQ/BCH of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) on "Focusing resources on caring for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation" has been concretized by trade unions at all levels with practical, persistent and widespread activities, typically the "Union Member Welfare" Program.

In recent years, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor has proactively directed trade unions at all levels to strengthen connections, mobilize businesses to participate in the program, and gradually form a widespread welfare partner network. To date, the whole province has signed and maintained cooperation agreements with 365 units and enterprises inside and outside the province, bringing a diverse and rich welfare ecosystem.
Through cooperation agreements, union members and workers have access to many preferential policies with discounts from 5% to 30% for essential goods and services such as food - provisions, consumer goods, healthcare, education, housing, means of transportation, tourism, entertainment, etc. These are all areas directly linked to daily living needs, contributing to reducing costs and stabilizing the lives of workers.
From the welfare network being expanded and effectively operated, in the period of 2023 - 2025, 83,241 union members and workers have benefited from preferential policies, with a total welfare value of over VND 4.994 billion. These figures not only show the scale of the program but also show the level of dissemination and the real effectiveness of the care work of the trade union organization.
For many union members, being able to buy goods and use services at preferential prices is not simply a cost-saving measure, but also a timely concern and sharing from the union organization, helping them feel more secure in their work and stay with the enterprise for a long time.

Not stopping at signing agreements, many grassroots trade unions in the province have proactively coordinated with businesses and suppliers to open welfare sales points at businesses in industrial parks and clusters, organize mobile welfare markets, and bring preferential goods to the workplaces of union members and workers. Thereby, it helps workers easily access, saving time and travel costs, especially for workers working in shifts.
In the coming time, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to direct trade unions at all levels to expand partners to participate in the "Union Member Welfare" Program, diversify products and preferential services, prioritize essential fields, and at the same time link the program with other caring activities such as "Workers' Month", "Tet Sum Vay", "Zero-dong Market", housing support, health check-ups... to improve the quality of comprehensive care for union members and workers.
With the motto "wherever there are union members, there is welfare", the "Union Member Welfare" Program in Dong Thap is gradually affirming itself as one of the bright spots in the care of the trade union organization, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations, for the sustainable development of businesses and localities.
