Employment solution for people subject to staff streamlining

Quỳnh Chi |

Strengthening support and opening specialized trading sessions for workers subject to staff streamlining is a plan that can help solve employment for this group of subjects.

According to Mr. Le Quang Trung - former Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Employment (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs), organizing job exchanges plays a very important role in the labor market to connect labor supply and demand for employees and employers directly and effectively. The platform also provides labor market information to employees, employers and State management agencies.

In the current period, when the labor market is expected to receive tens of thousands of more people under the staff streamlining program, Mr. Trung said that it is necessary to take advantage of the job creation channel through job exchanges.

I highly appreciate the system of job service centers that have organized job exchanges in each locality, region and inter-regional region. At this time, we can take advantage of job exchanges to support workers in the field of staff streamlining through thematic and specific sessions, said Mr. Le Quang Trung.

Mr. Trung cited that in Hanoi, the most recent trading session organized by the Hanoi Employment Service Center on February 17 was for businesses with recruitment needs of more than 2,600 positions, of which 37.7% of them were recruited with college degrees or higher. Enterprises are currently in great need of recruiting workers with professional training and experience, especially in the service, engineering and trade sectors... This is also a good job opportunity for those who quit their jobs in the state sector to soon have suitable jobs and jobs; at the same time, it also requires workers to continuously improve their training, retraining, and lifelong training to meet the requirements of the labor market in the new period, said Mr. Trung.

Sharing the same view, former Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Minh Huan said that when streamlining the apparatus of redundant civil servants and public employees, the State should have support policies, creating conditions for workers to find new jobs.

Mr. Huan said that in addition to general policies, the State needs to allocate additional budget sources to support workers in finding jobs. In particular, focusing on supporting vocational training and introducing jobs to stabilize the lives of workers after streamlining.
