On the morning of March 5, implementing the Central Committee's documents on personnel work, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (XIII term) organized the IX Conference to deploy the content on consolidating personnel work.
Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front attended and presented decisions at the conference.
Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Dinh Khang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs, former President of the VGCL; Dang Khanh Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Nguyen Phi Long, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations; Kieu Cao Trung - Deputy Director of Department 5 of the Central Organization Committee...
At the conference, the Executive Committee elected Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor term XIII, term 2023 - 2028 in accordance with the principles and regulations.
The vote counting results showed that 82 delegates participated in the voting, of which 82/82 delegates agreed, reaching 100% of the total number of delegates present. Thus, comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for the term 2023 - 2028.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour said that first of all, he thanked the Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee for trusting and assigning him the important responsibility of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and sincerely thanked the members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for representing trade union members nationwide in trusting and electing him to assume the position of Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, succeeding Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, Member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour who was transferred by the Politburo to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan respectfully thanked Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for taking the time to attend, present flowers to congratulate, and assign tasks to comrade and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
According to Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, today is an important day for him personally when he was elected by members of the Executive Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
This is a great honor, but also a great responsibility, especially in the context that is posing many challenges for the Vietnam Trade Union organization - when our country continues to promote international integration, especially when implementing new generation free trade agreements that allow the establishment of voluntary organizations, posing very new requirements and challenges for trade union activities.
At the same time, the termination of trade union activities in units receiving 100% salaries from the State budget and operating local governments at 2 levels has had major and fundamental changes in trade union activities.
Deeply aware of these issues, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan said that he continues to constantly strive, train, stick to reality, and together with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Presidium, and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, unite and promote the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, and dedicate all their strength to serving the working class, union members, and workers.
At the same time, continue to innovate thinking, methods, and content of activities on the basis of ensuring the comprehensive and absolute leadership of the Party, meeting the legitimate needs and aspirations of union members and workers, and the requirement to promote industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration.
Continue to strongly focus on grassroots levels, arouse and strongly promote the creativity and aspiration to contribute of union members and workers in realizing the aspiration to develop the country in the new era.
Actively participate in building the Party, building a clean and strong political system; promote emulation movements, proactively integrate, enhance the position and role of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in the international arena, determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the Vietnam Trade Union Congress, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress.
To fulfill the assigned responsibility, I really hope to receive the attention, support, cooperation, coordination, and assistance of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour through various periods, the solidarity, joint efforts, and consensus with the spirit of responsibility of the comrades in the Presidium, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, all cadres and civil servants of departments and units directly under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and all cadres and trade union members nationwide," Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed.
On this occasion, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan sent his sincere thanks to Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang - a passionate and dedicated trade union leader for workers; a brother in the position of Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour who has constantly innovated and created together with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Presidium, Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to unite, lead the workers' movement and trade union activities to develop more and more, achieving many important achievements.
Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan wished Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang to continue to achieve many successes in his new position and always pay attention, support, and create conditions for trade union activities.
Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan also respectfully thanked the close leadership and direction of Party and State leaders, the assistance of departments, ministries, branches, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central and local mass organizations, especially comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the workers' movement and trade union activities over the past time, and expressed his respect for continuing to receive close attention, assistance, support, and conditions from comrades in the coming time so that the Vietnam Trade Union organization can increasingly effectively perform its functions and tasks, worthy of the trust of the Party, and the expectations of the working class and union members and workers.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs, former President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour said that on July 28, 2019, he was elected by the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to hold the position of President of the 12th Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Taking on the new position as the head of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, aware of the great responsibility assigned by the Politburo, responsibility to union members and workers, comrade always strives to strive to train, unite with the Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Presidium, Presidium, Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to promote democracy, focus intelligence, proactively carry out innovation in organization, content, and methods of operation, building the Vietnam Trade Union organization to become increasingly strong, worthy of the trust and reliability of union members and workers.
With 6 years and 7 months in the position of Secretary of the Party Delegation, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the VGCL, 8 months in the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang and the Party Delegation, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Presidium, Executive Committee have led and directed trade union activities to basically meet the requirements of union members, workers and the expectations of society for the Vietnam Trade Union organization, especially the years the Trade Union organization and the whole country fought and defeated the COVID-19 pandemic.
Proactively researched and advised and proposed to the Party and State to issue a number of major guidelines and policies to create favorable conditions for trade union activities, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers such as Directive No. 37-CT/TW dated September 3, 2019 of the Secretariat on strengthening leadership and direction in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the new situation; Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on innovating the organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation, the 2019 Labor Code, the 2023 Trade Union Law, Directive No. 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 on strengthening the Party's leadership over propaganda, political, ideological and legal education for workers in the new situation...
The years with comrades and colleagues immersed in the workers' movement and trade union activities have helped me grow up more, understand more deeply the work, life of workers and trade union affection.
Thanks to the care, help, protection, and sharing of leaders, colleagues and union members and workers nationwide, I have completed my tasks at the Trade Union organization, and now I am trusted by the Politburo and the Prime Minister to assign new tasks" - Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang expressed.
In the moment of saying goodbye to the Trade Union organization, the second agency - with the longest working time - Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang sincerely thanked the comrades in the Politburo, the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the leaders of localities who have always paid attention, led, directed, and created all favorable conditions for trade union activities and the comrade personally during his tenure as Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the VGCL.

I have learned from comrades and the rich practice of trade union activities many valuable experiences, with great value and profound meaning to apply in the new working environment" - Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang said.
According to Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, no matter where he is, in any position, he is always proud that he has had time to study, work, train and be attached to the Trade Union organization. Within his ability and conditions, he promises to do everything best to contribute to building the Vietnam Trade Union organization to become more and more developed.
