The talks took place under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the VGCL and Mr. Wolfgang Katzian, President of OGB - Head of the OGB delegation.
Also participating in the talks were Mr. Phillip Agathonos - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Vietnam; Ms. Le Huyen Minh - Deputy Director of the European Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; leaders of professional departments of the VGCL.

At the talks, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang conveyed the thanks of the senior leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam to the Chairman for sending a congratulatory letter to the 14th National Party Congress.
The concern and friendly feelings of the Austrian General Confederation of Labour for the Party, State and people of Vietnam, as well as for the Vietnam Trade Union organization, are a valuable source of encouragement, showing the close relationship and spirit of solidarity between the trade union movements of the two countries.
The President of the VGCL also informed about some major contents of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In the content of the exchange on Trade Union activities, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang said that in Vietnam, the Trade Union organization plays a particularly important role in protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of union members and workers, contributing to promoting social justice, contributing to peace, stability and sustainable development.

The President of the VGCL highly appreciated the good cooperative relationship between the Austrian General Confederation of Labour and the VGCL over the years, and at the same time, acknowledged the important role and contribution of the Austrian General Confederation of Labour in the European trade union movement, especially in the context that the President of the Austrian General Confederation of Labour also holds the position of President of the European General Confederation of Labour.
Vietnam always appreciates the friendly feelings of the Austrian General Confederation of Labour for the Party, State and people of Vietnam, as well as for the Vietnamese Trade Union organization. This is a valuable source of encouragement, showing the close relationship and solidarity between the trade union movements of the two countries.
On that basis, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang hoped that in the coming time, the Austrian General Confederation of Labour will continue to strengthen close cooperation with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, together share experiences, support each other for the rights and interests of workers of the two countries, and at the same time contribute to promoting friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Austria, between Vietnam and the EU, between ASEAN and the EU, for a world of peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development.
One of the directions for cooperation in the coming time proposed by the VGCL is to maintain delegation exchanges, contacts with leaders, share experiences on trade union organizations, social dialogues and representatives of workers in the context of socio-economic transformation. Strengthen exchanges of experiences on wage policies, social security, skills training and green transformation, important and practical issues for workers, which are also of particular concern to Vietnam, Austria and the EU.
Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized: We highly appreciate the role and prestige of the Austrian General Confederation of Labour in the European Trade Union movement, especially in the context that President Wolfgang Katzian also holds the position of President of the European General Confederation of Labour. On that basis, we want to strengthen exchanges, connections and information sharing with the European General Confederation of Labour, thereby contributing to promoting cooperation between the Vietnam Trade Union and the European Trade Union movement in general.

At the talks, Mr. Wolfgang Katzian highly appreciated the relationship between the two sides, and said that one of the contents of this visit and working trip is to learn and exchange views on the role of the Trade Union organization.
Some contents that the two sides focused on exchanging included: Minimum wage, Collective Labor Agreement, launching emulation movements, digital transformation in Trade Union activities...
