On March 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) coordinated with functional units to announce the program "An cu cung nguoi lao dong" (Resettling with workers), launching and implementing the "Because you deserve" award in 2026.
The ceremony was attended by more than 100 delegates from the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City, and a large number of union members and workers in 10 wards and communes in eastern Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Organizing Committee, with more than 70,000 union members and workers working in 10 wards and communes, the demand for housing and a place to settle down to feel secure in working and producing is very large. Although units and businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have provided support and connection solutions... in reality, union members and workers still face many difficulties in having a real home that is theirs.
Therefore, the program "Resettlement with Workers" is built to listen to and accompany workers, contributing to a social security initiative. Thereby supporting workers who have labor contracts with units and businesses in the area to gradually access opportunities to stabilize housing and life, and be attached to work for a long time. The program also accompanies and provides free advice on settlement solutions, legal inspection of land planning, and equipping legal knowledge about real estate... for union members and workers.
The program commits not to organize capital raising or donations; not to sell projects and not to bring risks to union members and workers. In the first year, the "An cu cung nguoi lao dong" program aims to support workers to access 2,000 land plots with prices ranging from 520-780 million VND. These land plots already have red books, residential land, and stable electricity and water infrastructure so that after purchase, workers can build houses immediately. At the same time, the bank will also support workers to borrow capital at preferential interest rates.
The organizing committee also selected 30 "Because you are worthy" awards, including 5 special awards for land plots (worth 700 million VND, free of charge); 25 awards honoring trade union members; with the selection criteria being cases of difficult housing circumstances, stable working process, good morals and will to rise up in life...
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do - Director of the Legal Consulting Center of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that previously, through research and exchanges on the contents of the program "An cu cung nguoi lao dong", it is suitable for the purpose of caring for union members and workers of the trade union organization. At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has also reviewed the accompanying units and individuals participating to ensure compliance with regulations and appropriateness... to bring legitimate benefits to union members and workers.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also presented 20 gifts including cash worth 1 million VND and in-kind gifts to 20 union members in difficult circumstances working at businesses in the area.
