At the regular press conference of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of March 19, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang answered questions about the Vietnamese Government's views related to information that on March 1, the administration of US President Donald Trump opened an investigation into 16 US trading partners under Article 301 related to the issue of excess industrial production capacity, including Vietnam.
The Vietnamese economy operates fully and synchronously according to the laws of the market economy and many countries have recognized Vietnam's market economy status" - Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized.
According to the Spokesperson, production and business activities in Vietnam always aim for sustainable development and strictly comply with relevant regulations, including those of the World Trade Organization.
Over the past time, economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and the US have continued to develop positively and bring benefits to businesses and people of the two countries. We regularly exchange and dialogue with the US side and will continue to closely coordinate with relevant US agencies to share information and clarify Vietnam's policies and regulations, towards building a stable, long-term and mutually beneficial economic cooperation framework between the two sides" - Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized.
