Tet joy of disabled workers and their spouses
On the last day of the year, Ms. Cao Thi Nhuong, wife of Mr. Nguyen Van Chuc, cleaned the kitchen, preparing lunch for the whole family. More than 20 years ago, Mr. Chuc was disabled after an accident. Fortunately, he was hired to work at Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mr. Chuc met and fell in love with a small disabled girl, Cao Thi Nhuong. Mr. Chuc and his wife rented a house in Hai Phong, built a family life and have 2 sons.
Mr. Chuc shared that for nearly 20 years, his wife and children have lived in a rented house of only about 20m2, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, cramped. For ordinary people it is still difficult, for people with disabilities like Mr. Chuc and Ms. Nhuong it is even more difficult many times over. The dream of having a solid, spacious house for his wife and children to conveniently live in is still deeply in Mr. Chuc's heart. However, the income of the couple is only nearly 15 million VND per month, just enough for living expenses, medicine for the couple as well as children's education.
In 2025, with the attention of the Trade Union organization, the help of family and friends, Mr. Chuc and his wife bought land and built the Trade Union Shelter house. The 60m2 house in Nam Binh residential group, Hong An ward was inaugurated before the Lunar New Year in the joy and happiness of Mr. Chuc's family.
Representatives of the Golden Heart Labor Social Charity Fund and the sponsor Vietnam Industrial Park Group Joint Stock Company presented financial support of 50 million VND to Mr. Chuc's family. Hai Phong City Labor Federation also provided additional support for Mr. Chuc's family of 10 million VND from the City Trade Union Shelter Fund. The Trade Union of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. also presented a practical New Year's gift to Mr. Chuc and Ms. Nhuong's family.
Mr. Dao Xuan Thu - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that the company currently creates jobs for more than 30 disabled workers with an average income of more than 7 million VND/person/month. Disabled workers enjoy all care and benefits without discrimination against other workers so that employees feel respected and equal. With the care and support of the business, these workers always strive to complete the assigned work well, attached to the business from its establishment to now.
A fulcrum for miners to feel secure in sticking to the slope and the mine.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the TKV Trade Union - said that in 2023, the TKV Trade Union participated in amending the Regulation on the TKV Trade Union Social Fund - "Trade Union Shelter", thereby increasing the level of support for "Trade Union Shelter" from 60 million VND to 80 million VND/house. In 2025, the TKV Trade Union agreed with the General Director of the Group to increase the level of housing construction support from 80 million VND to 90 million VND.

On the occasion of Tet and Spring, recently, the Trade Union of Duong Huy Coal Company (Quang Ninh) has realized the dream of "settling down" for 3 union member and employee families. The supported families are the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Coal Exploitation Workshop 1; Mr. Bui Van Hoi - Coal Exploitation Workshop 3, Mr. Chu Van Hau - Coal Exploitation Workshop 8. The total support cost is 345 million VND (of which 270 million VND is from the TKV Trade Union source, 75 million VND is from the contributions of employees and the company).
Directly visiting each family of union members and workers, Chairman of the Trade Union of Duong Huy Coal Company Dao Trung Huy and the working delegation not only handed over funds but also sent timely trust and encouragement to union members and workers.
The radiant smiles, the tight handshakes of Trade Union officials and union members and workers in the "Trade Union Shelter" still smelling of new bricks are the most vivid proof of the humanistic values that the Trade Union organization brings. More than just a house to shelter from rain and sun, the "Trade Union Shelter" is a support for miners to feel secure in clinging to the seam and the mine. In my opinion, this is a meaningful activity to care for material and spiritual life, bringing a complete and warm Tet to workers. The "Trade Union Shelter" program once again affirms that the Trade Union is not only a bridge between workers and business leaders, but also a "relative" of workers, always providing timely support when they encounter difficult circumstances" - Mr. Dao Trung Huy shared.
Happiness when celebrating Tet in a new house
Considering the "Trade Union Shelter" program as always a highlight in caring for union members and workers, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has supported union members and workers to build and repair 99 Trade Union Shelters with an amount of 5.550 billion VND in 2025 alone.
In early August 2025, the historic flood in the area completely swept away the house of union member Vi Van Thu, a worker of the Song Ma - Sop Cop Electricity Management Team, Son La Power Company. The loss of the house has put Mr. Vi Van Thu's family in particularly difficult circumstances.
Understanding and sharing with the families of union members and workers, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union at all levels and the collective of officials and employees of Son La Electricity Company have joined hands to support the construction of a new house, helping Mr. Thu's family soon stabilize their lives. Recently, in Muong Lan village, Muong Lan commune (Son La province), Son La Electricity Company organized the handover of the Trade Union Shelter to Mr. Vi Van Thu's family.
Mr. Thu's family's house is solidly built, with an area of 90m2, brick wall structure, brick floor, corrugated iron roof, ensuring safety and suitable for living conditions in the highlands. The total construction cost is more than 304 million VND. In which, the collective of officials and employees of the company donated and supported 107.6 million VND; Vietnam Electricity Trade Union supported 60 million VND, the Trade Union of Northern Power Corporation supported 30 million VND, Son La Electricity Company supported 20 million VND...
Moved to receive the new house, Mr. Vi Van Thu expressed: "In the most difficult time, my family received timely care and help from the company and the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union at all levels. This is a great source of encouragement for me to feel secure in my work and rise up in life. Especially, on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, my family celebrated Tet in a new, spacious and solid house, imbued with Trade Union affection.
In 2025 alone, Vietnamese Trade Union levels have supported union members and workers (TUs, NLĐ) to build and repair more than 1,500 Trade Union Shelters with a total support amount of more than 82 billion VND.
