Public and transparent draw to give opportunities to poor children
To provide practical support for workers in Hoa Khanh, Hoa Khanh expanded industrial parks, Lien Chieu and High-Tech Park, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu Ward has coordinated with the OneSky Charity Organization (USA) to select 50 children in particularly difficult circumstances at Son Ca Kindergarten.
The project is exclusively for children aged 6 to 72 months whose parents are direct workers, facing housing difficulties (housing, level 4 houses, co-housing from 3 families) and average income per capita is below 5 million VND/month. Special priority cases include children whose parents are disabled, have chronic diseases, or are orphans or are eligible for special consideration (2-5% of the target). After receiving valid dossiers from June 25 to July 15, a public draw took place under the close supervision of the government, sponsors and parents. Immediately after that, the process of verifying the actual family circumstances was completed by the school teacher and OneSky representative to issue an official support decision.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lich - Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu Ward People's Committee (Da Nang City) - said: "The locality has implemented the first phase of support for a period of 3 months (from June to August). The support level is calculated retroactively from June for 50 children who have been reviewed. Currently, the Ward People's Committee has issued a decision and officially announced the beneficiary list to each family".
With a level of 1.2 million VND/child/month, 50 admitted children will receive a cumulative support fund this time; at the same time, 46 school teachers will also receive professional training according to the Ministry of Education and Training standards.
Strong boost from budget capital and synchronous policies
In parallel with international projects, the locality is also drastically implementing widespread support policies specifically for preschool education in areas with a large number of workers according to the Resolution of the Da Nang City People's Council approved at the 2nd session of the 11th term (term 2026-2031) with a total implementation cost of about 41.7 billion VND.
Assessing the situation of deploying support funds for workers' children according to the city's general policy, Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Lich affirmed: "For the policy of supporting 200,000 VND/month for workers' children in industrial parks, the locality has reviewed, completed procedures for approval and signed payment of billions of VND to ensure timely benefits for children". According to regulations, the policy of supporting 200,000 VND/child/month is applied to children of workers and laborers working in industrial parks with the benefit period according to the actual number of months of study (maximum 9 months/school year).
Independent preschool education institutions in industrial park areas are supported to be equipped with facilities, supplies, toys and repaired once with a level of 30 million VND/institution. For preschool teachers working in private and semi-public institutions in industrial park areas, they receive a support level of 800,000 VND/month.
