If I can live, I will stay.
In 2023, when the economic situation was difficult, the company's orders decreased, and income decreased, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thuan - a worker at Tra Noc Industrial Park (Can Tho City) - and many colleagues were still working hard to produce and accompany the company. The male worker said that instead of having to go to other big cities and provinces, working at a company in his hometown would save him a lot of expenses and be closer to his family.
In particular, the company's salary and benefits are also what keep male workers in their hometown.
“During the difficult period, my income decreased but I can still meet the living standards in Can Tho. Since the beginning of the year, the number of orders has increased, the company often allows overtime, my salary has also increased, many months at 8 - 9 million VND. Therefore, as long as the policy and income are stable, I will continue to accompany the company instead of leaving home to start a business” - Mr. Thuan expressed.
With more than 10 years of working experience, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Kieu - a worker at An Do Duong Company Limited (Thot Not District, Can Tho City) - said that there were times when the company was facing more difficulties than in 2023, but everyone overcame them together. Therefore, last year, although her income decreased, she never had any intention of leaving her hometown to look for other opportunities.
According to the female worker, working in her hometown will make it easier for her to take care of and pick up her children from school. If she changes jobs, it will take time for her to get used to everything, from the work to the living environment. Not to mention, for her, the benefits and salary at her current company are very good.
“When the company was doing well, the workers enjoyed many benefits, so when the company encountered difficulties, we were ready to accompany them. This year, the company recovered production, the workers had many jobs, in addition to increased income, those with 3.5 years of seniority or more were also awarded shares. This is a great motivation for us to strive to produce and continue to contribute to the company,” Ms. Kieu shared.
